Barmag presents metering pump solutions at ASE China

Precision for Adhesives and Sealants
The demands placed on modern adhesive and sealant applications are constantly increasing. Manufacturers expect reproducible dosing results, minimal material loss, and reliable processing in increasingly demanding processes. This is precisely where Barmag’s product portfolio comes into play.

Material efficiency as a competitive advantage
At ASE China, Barmag is focusing in particular on its solutions for hot-melt adhesives, PUR systems, silicones, resins, and two-component adhesives and sealants. The pumps in the GA/GX series, in particular, enable uniform, low-pulsation delivery of these media, thereby contributing to consistently high product quality and reduced material consumption. “Rising raw material costs and increasing quality requirements make precise metering more important today than ever before. With our pumps, we help users make their processes more efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective,” explains Andreas Heitzer, Key Account Manager of the Pumps Division.

In addition, with the GA series, Barmag offers metering pump solutions for shear-sensitive media where product properties must be preserved during pumping. This is particularly important for certain reactive adhesives, silicones, or filled sealants. Gentle pumping minimizes product changes and ensures uniform material application. This increases process reliability and ensures consistently high quality of the end product.

Partner for demanding metering applications
With decades of experience in metering technology, Barmag is one of the leading suppliers of high-precision gear metering pumps for industrial applications. These solutions are used worldwide in adhesive, sealant, coating, laminating, and hot-melt systems, as well as in plastics processing. At ASE China, Barmag invites trade visitors to discuss the latest developments in metering and conveying technology and to learn about customized solutions for future adhesive and sealant applications.

EDANA’s OUTLOOK™ returns to Cascais to shape a changing industry

The market does not wait, and it does not grant easy answers. Across the absorbent hygiene, personal care, and wipes sectors, business is undergoing a period of intense, necessary adjustment. New European rules on packaging, single-use items, product safety, and end-of-life are forcing companies to drop old assumptions about materials and performance. At the same time, producers must keep their goods safe, reliable, and affordable for the babies and aging adults, who rely on them every day.

From 22 to 24 September 2026, EDANA’s OUTLOOK™ returns to the Hotel Miragem in Cascais, Portugal, for its twenty-fifth edition of the conference.

OUTLOOK™ began in Monaco in 2001. It focused then on baby diapers and menstrual protection. Over a quarter of a century, the work expanded. It grew to cover adult incontinence, wipes, complex international product safety, and strict environmental compliance. In 2007, the conference met in Cascais. Returning to the Portuguese coast this September marks a milestone, but the focus remains squarely on the work ahead.

The three-day programme takes on the hardest questions in the supply chain directly:

Returning to the Portuguese coast this September marks a milestone, but the focus remains squarely on the work ahead.

The three-day programme takes on the hardest questions in the supply chain directly:

Day 1 Keynote — Global Macroeconomics & Shocks: Henry Curr, Economics Editor at The Economist, will open the plenary with his keynote presentation, "The Teflon world economy and what could finally break it." Curr oversees global economics coverage for The Economist and has written some 30 cover stories on labour markets, public debt, the future of global commerce, and the risks of "homeland economics" and green protectionism. Drawing on discussions with top policymakers and executives, he will explore how global markets have absorbed successive crises—from geopolitical conflicts to AI-driven labour disruption—and what structural risks could still disrupt demand and capital investment.

Session 1 — Market Drivers in a Challenging Environment: Moderated by Jacques Prigneaux (Market Analysis & Economic Affairs Director, EDANA), this session examines the pivotal market drivers redefining the competitive landscape. Industry specialists Kaushik Mitra (Chemical Market Analytics by Dow Jones), Dr. Annika Trümpler (Schlegel und Partner), and Natalia Bezrebra (Euromonitor) will address shifting polyolefin supply, pricing downslides, post-crisis supply chains, and the strategic expansion of major Chinese hygiene manufacturers entering the European market.

Session 2 — Global Product Safety Compliance Panel: Moderated by Luminita Barbu (Regulatory Affairs Director, EDANA), this high-level panel addresses the complex matrix of international consumer product safety regulations, compliance standards, and policy trends. Featuring legal and regulatory authorities—including Claudio Mereu and Natalie Konings, Partners at Bird & Bird—the discussion will highlight the practical implications of international initiatives such as the UN Principles for Consumer Product Safety, alongside regulatory divergence and convergence across the EU, US, and China.

Day 2 Keynote — Future Retail Trends & Consumer Shifts: Renowned retail futurist Theresa Schleicher opens Day 2 with her keynote, "Next Growth: The Bigger Consumer Shifts on the Horizon." Widely regarded as one of Europe's leading retail futurists, Schleicher is a former Managing Director at Hirschen Group, an author of acclaimed retail trend studies, a retail start-up investor, and a strategic sparring partner for Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the Zukunftsinstitut, and global giants like Procter & Gamble, L'Oréal, and Beiersdorf. Her session will uncover macro consumer trends, economic resilience, and emerging opportunities in absorbent hygiene.

Session 3 — The Consumer Lens: Redefining Value in Absorbent Hygiene: Moderated by Murat Dogru, this senior leadership panel puts the consumer perspective at the centre of innovation. Featuring senior leaders including Sara Järup (Global Material Development Director at Essity), Matrice Jackson (Director, Global R&D at Kimberly-Clark Corporation), and Giulia Antonioli (Head of Communications, Reputation & Public Affairs, Baby Care Europe at Procter & Gamble), the panel examines how consumer expectations around sustainability, dignity, and transparency are redefining value across femcare, adult incontinence, and baby care.

Session 4 — The Transition in Wipes & Interactive Q&A: Focusing on "Wipes: The Pros and Cons of Going Plastic-Free," this session brings together technical and public affairs experts—including Brieuc Lits (EDANA), Wolfgang Tenbusch (Albaad Deutschland), Sergio Rosales Calderon and Sebastien Monges (BCNonwovens), and Elisabeth Swennenhuis (Magnera Corporation)—to evaluate EU policy tools (SUPD, EMPCO, EPR schemes), Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and the performance trade-offs of pulp versus viscose spunlace. The session concludes with a dedicated live Q&A and open floor discussion with the audience.

Session 5 — Can Absorbent Hygiene Products Become Circular? Led by EDANA’s Sustainability Director, Rawaa Ammar, this forward-looking session explores actionable circularity for the nonwovens sector. Featuring insights from Jeff Stubbe, CEO of Woosh, the session shares real-world operational lessons on closing the diaper loop and demonstrating that circularity can operate as an economically viable business model rather than a small-scale trial.

Exhibition, Business Meetings & Networking
Beyond the conference hall, OUTLOOK™ 2026 provides extensive commercial and networking platforms:

Tabletop Exhibition: A dedicated showcase featuring 20 innovative companies presenting advanced technologies, materials, and services.

Private Meeting Rooms: Dedicated business spaces designed for private discussions and commercial partnerships.

Evening Social Programme: Delegates will connect during the welcome cocktail at Hotel Miragem and an evening reception at the historic Valverde Sintra Palácio, set in the scenic hills of Sintra.

OUTLOOK™ 2026 is built for decision-makers. Alongside the plenary sessions, the event hosts a curated tabletop exhibition of 20 innovators, dedicated private meeting rooms for commercial discussions, and structured networking. Delegates will also gather for an evening reception at the historic Valverde Sintra Palácio in the Sintra hills.

More than 500 senior leaders across the value chain—raw material suppliers, machine builders, converters, brand owners, and retailers—will attend. You can track industry shifts from behind a desk, but you cannot replace being present when the sector evaluates itself and decides its course.

SUPREME WOMEN&MEN: Düsseldorf reaffirms position as a fashion destination

Fully booked schedules, focused conversations and an in-dustry clearly embracing face-to-face exchange once again: the latest edition of SUPREME WOMEN&MEN Düsseldorf, held from 24 to 27 July 2026, demonstrated the importance of focused order platforms, particularly in a challenging market environment.

International collections, established agencies and new exhibitors came together at KWS 117–119, connecting with buyers and retail partners from across the DACH region. Yet the four days were about more than placing orders for the upcoming season. They were about new ideas, shared plans and, above all, the question of how brands and retailers can successfully shape the market going forward.

Fashion had a strong presence throughout the city, extending well beyond the showrooms. From 22 to 29 July, the Düsseldorf Fashion Days brought together the city’s order business, showrooms and wider fashion activities, while the DFD Festival at Corneliusplatz brought fashion directly to Königsallee with runway shows and a programme designed to engage the city and its visitors. SUPREME WOMEN&MEN was part of this collective momentum, contributing its own distinct strengths: a curated setting, an efficient environment and close connections be-tween brands, agencies and retailers.

Green Fashion looks confident at the 58th INNATEX

The sustainable fashion sector is facing the challenging economic situation with realism and pragmatism – this is the note on which INNATEX closes its doors on 20 July 2026. The Green Fashion community is not letting itself be discouraged by the crisis warning issued by the German Retail Federation (HDE) a few days ago.

"The reluctance to spend among consumers, as perceived by the retail sector, is naturally a concern," says Alexander Hitzel, project manager at INNATEX. "Nobody is expecting a major breakthrough at the moment, but the industry is taking a constructive approach and is ready to implement the necessary measures. It appreciates that the trade fair is a reliable partner. We, too, recognise new challenges and are addressing them."

Whilst the Kids section is currently showing a decline this summer, international brands' interest in INNATEX is growing. The trade fair will therefore focus more strongly on well-known and international newcomers and reorganise its offering into new clusters at the Messecenter Hofheim Rhein-Main in the future. The organiser, MUVEO GmbH, intend to further expand the Retail Summer Camp and link it more closely to strategic partnerships and campaigns.

Green Fashion with a Future
As part of the trade fair, the Association of German Fashion and Textile Designers (VDMD) presented its Design Award for Sustainable Collections to Vaude, Jan'n June, Wote and Sweersocean. The laudation was delivered by Dr Jürgen Janssen, Secretary-General of the German Council for Sustainable Development. He praised the award winners for remaining true to their vision.

"We now need companies that stay on the course. The headwinds we are currently experiencing on many sustainability issues will turn around," predicts Dr Janssen. "After all, we are not just talking about costs, but also about benefits that are evident, for example, in higher quality and durability. And the fact that the use of sustainable raw materials, as well as transparency and fairness in the supply chain, receive less public attention than they did just a few years ago does not in any way mean that these issues are irrelevant, including from a business perspective. These values will regain importance. We are simply dealing with trends that are constantly changing. I am convinced that companies such as those exhibiting at INNATEX are fit for the future."

Conscientious Companies Benefit from the EmpCo
The "Textilwirtschaft Expert-Talk” session has now become a fixture on the INNATEX programme. In this edition, correspondent Kirsten Reinhold spoke to Ronja Hüttinger, sustainability consultant at BAM! Bock auf Morgen, about the impact of the Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition Directive (EmpCo) on the industry. Both agreed that EmpCo gives small and medium-sized fashion companies a strategic and financial edge over the large, conventional corporations.

"EmpCo is about putting an end to brazen environmental lies," said Hüttinger. "Instead of sweeping generalisations, what counts now are concrete, verifiable facts. Companies that have poured their heart and soul into their products for years – those that work with natural fibres, produce fairly and recycle – have a clear advantage because they know their supply chain. This is precisely the advantage the big players don't have: they lack the evidence. Under no circumstances must the EmpCo lead to greenwashing. On the contrary, it should finally highlight the difference between genuine, conscientious work and greenwashing."

"Industry players need to join forces"
One of the most important ways for companies to move forward is through collaboration – that is the general consensus among fashion designers and experts. The possibilities range from partnerships between brands and retailers to charity projects and joint events.

„When we created a T-shirt with our favourite falafel shop in Mülheim an der Ruhr, we didn't expect it to sell out so quickly," says Henry Canton of Mazine Streetwear. "People love it because it makes them feel part of a movement. Collaborations don't always have to follow the classic patterns. Alongside large campaigns, smaller, local partnerships can have just as strong an impact. What it takes above all is openness and creativity – and exchange with a community that inspires one another. That's exactly what makes INNATEX special to me."

The INNATEX Showroom in Bern on 16 and 17 August 2026 rounds off this ordering season. The next INNATEX will take place from 16 to 18 January 2027.

Bringing together premium fashion, accessories and lifestyle collections from across the UK, Europe and beyond, the show welcomed leading department stores, independent retailers and international buyers, all taking time to write orders, discover new designers and reconnect with established collections.

Buyer attendance reflected the calibre and international appeal of the show, with retailers including Fenwick Stores, Liberty London, Galeries Lafayette, Printemps, Le Bon Marche, The Dressing Room, The Polizzi Collection Shop, Iris, Pamela Schiffer, Sisters, Blu, Cream, El Corte Ingles Spain,  Cordelia James, V&A Museum, The National Gallery and Royal Opera House Covent Garden among those attending across the three-day event.
Buyers praised both the quality of the collections and the show's carefully edited format, highlighting the opportunity to discover new designers while spending meaningful time with existing suppliers.

Designers also reported a successful edition, welcoming returning retail partners alongside new buyers, while highlighting the commercial value of Scoop's focused edit and the calibre of retailers attending the show.

A standout feature of this season's programme was Behind The Curtain, Karen Radley's exclusive conversation with the womenswear buying team from Galeries Lafayette. Offering buyers and exhibitors a rare opportunity to hear directly from one of Europe's most influential department stores, Fanny Courtade, Womenswear Buying Manager, alongside Ready-to-Wear Buyers Alice Sordello and Julia Bonnebat, shared insight into the realities of modern buying, discussing everything from identifying emerging designers and balancing creativity with commercial performance to understanding evolving customer expectations. The session reinforced Scoop's commitment to pairing exceptional buying opportunities with valuable retail insight.

Scoop's landmark partnership with the Italian Trade Agency remained a defining feature of the SS'27 edition, celebrating the show's largest-ever collective of Italian designers through a programme of buyer events, networking opportunities and the dedicated Style Spotlight: Discover Italian Design.

Reflecting on the close of the show, Karen Radley, Founder and Managing Director of Scoop, said: "What has stood out most this season is the time buyers have spent with the collections. They've taken time to explore collections, ask questions, write orders and discover designers they may not otherwise have found. That thoughtful approach has always been at the heart of Scoop, and it's incredibly rewarding to see it reflected across the show floor."

As the doors close on the SS'27 edition, Scoop once again demonstrated the enduring value of thoughtful curation. By bringing together exceptional international collections, influential retailers and a programme of insightful industry content, the show continues to offer one of fashion's most distinctive buying experiences.

Enhanced by strong yarn character, fast fading properties, and laser-compatible finishing techniques, the range delivers a high-definition visual depth alongside authentic, vintage denim characteristics.

Building upon this color-focused story, Iconic Craft redefines fabric texture as a central design element. Bold surface treatments, multi-layered structures, and progressive finishes produce highly tactile textiles that fluidly shift from heritage authenticity to experimental, techno-inspired aesthetics. Completing the collection's sensory profile is ISKO™ Wondersoft, which prioritizes the physical hand-feel by introducing fluid, silky, and remarkably soft qualities that balance everyday durability with refined comfort.

Capsule Collections: Four Creative Expressions
This seasonal design philosophy comes to life across four distinct capsule collections, each exploring the overarching aesthetic theme through a unique point of view:

  • City Glam 2.0: Explores the boundaries of denim through a polished, metropolitan lens. It introduces a balance of matte and glossy finishes to add subtle luminosity and elevated sophistication while respecting denim’s classic roots.
  • D.Lite 2.0: Concentrates on lightweight fabric weights and fluid comfort. This capsule features flexible, exceptionally soft denim qualities designed for effortless movement and a relaxed aesthetic, meeting the modern demand for comfort-first apparel without losing a sleek edge.
  • Chino’s Utility: Reimagines traditional chino archetypes with a contemporary, laid-back sensibility. Classic, seasonless navy and beige baselines are updated with progressive colorways, tactile surfaces, and technical weave constructions that blend functional wear with elegant style.
  • Natural Meal: Presents an organic exploration focused on off-white and natural ecru palettes. Centered on raw authenticity, this capsule pairs clean tonal depth with distinct
  • fabric textures, offering a softer, more organic take on denim culture that highlights material character and mindful engineering.

“Our presence at Bluezone highlights a deep commitment to pushing the boundaries of what denim can be,” said Fatma Korkmaz, Product Development Manager at ISKO. “This season, we are shifting the conversation toward an immersive, sensory experience where color depth and intricate textures take center stage and blending it with the incredible circular capabilities of RE&UP, to show the industry that high-end design and environmental responsibility belong together.”

ISKO™ Luxury by PG – H.A. HUMAN ART
Running alongside the core range, ISKO™ Luxury by PG debuts H.A. HUMAN ART, a visionary project celebrating artisanal craftsmanship in the era of artificial intelligence. Created by Paolo Gnutti, this line returns the focus to analog, human creativity, emphasizing tactile experimentation and emotion-driven design. The concept explores eight distinct directions, spanning tailored denim structures and highly textured black surfaces to multi-colored weaves, faux-fur techniques, and innovative reverse-side prints, merging artisanal spirit with premium technical luxury

New Designers Bringing Fresh Perspectives to Scoop

As Scoop returns to Olympia National from 19–21 July 2026, Founder and Creative Director Karen Radley introduces a new cohort of international designers making their debut at the show, each bringing a distinctive perspective on how fashion, accessories and lifestyle are evolving.

As Scoop returns to Olympia National from 19–21 July 2026, Founder and Creative Director Karen Radley introduces a new cohort of international designers making their debut at the show, each bringing a distinctive perspective on how fashion, accessories and lifestyle are evolving.

Carefully selected from across Europe and beyond, the latest additions to the Scoop line-up reflect a growing movement away from fast-moving trends and towards collections rooted in craftsmanship, creativity and individuality. Spanning footwear, accessories, resortwear and contemporary fashion, the designers share a common desire to create products with purpose, personality and a strong sense of identity.

Among the strongest themes emerging from this season's new arrivals is a renewed appreciation for craftsmanship and the human touch. Italian designer XIWIKJ combines European creativity with traditional artisan techniques from Jaipur, creating richly detailed collections that celebrate the beauty of handmade production. A similar philosophy underpins London-based Myyaz Studio, where handcrafted footwear and accessories place making and experimentation at the heart of the design process. Together, they represent a growing appreciation for collections that value artistry, authenticity and the stories behind the finished product.

Alongside craftsmanship comes a commitment to more thoughtful production. French designer LO NEEL demonstrates how contemporary luxury and responsible design can work hand in hand through collections crafted from innovative ethical materials, while Korè Collections embraces limited production runs, organic fabrics and hand-painted prints inspired by Mediterranean living. Their arrival at Scoop reflects the increasing demand for collections that balance creativity with conscious decision-making, without compromising on design appeal.

Elsewhere, personality and self-expression take centre stage. Never A Wallflower brings a vibrant approach to contemporary dressing through bold colour, confident silhouettes and an unapologetically optimistic aesthetic. Footwear designer Good News similarly challenges convention through a fresh approach to trainer design, reflecting a wider appetite for products that offer individuality and character in an increasingly crowded marketplace.

Fresh perspectives also emerge through a diverse mix of accessories, footwear and lifestyle designers, each responding to the growing consumer appetite for products with both purpose and personality. From Hindbag's considered approach to everyday accessories and Gondolina's commitment to craftsmanship, to Hagase's refined detailing and Cacatoès' playful interpretation of contemporary summer style, the collections bring a distinctive energy to the show floor. Together with Alessandra Salvatore and MRP Star, they demonstrate how functionality, creativity and individuality are increasingly shaping modern retail.

For Karen Radley, these designers represent exactly the kind of discovery that has always defined Scoop.  Karen said: “What excites me most is finding designers who bring something genuinely different to the conversation. Buyers today are looking for collections with a strong identity and a story behind them. They want products that feel considered, authentic and distinctive.

“When I look at this season's new arrivals, what I see is a group of designers who are approaching fashion in very different ways, but who share a commitment to creativity, quality and individuality. They are creating collections with personality, and I think that resonates strongly with both retailers and consumers today.”

As retailers continue to seek differentiation in an increasingly competitive market, Scoop's newest arrivals offer a timely reminder that innovation does not always come from scale. Whether through artisanal craftsmanship, responsible production, bold creativity or a fresh approach to design, these debut designers demonstrate the breadth of talent emerging across the international fashion and lifestyle landscape.

Together, they reinforce Scoop's reputation as a destination for discovery, providing buyers with access to fresh perspectives, exciting new talent and the collections shaping the next chapter of contemporary retail.

Italian Textile Machinery Excellence Makes a Double Stop in Bangladesh

Technological upgrading and the transition toward higher value-added production are driving the new Italian industrial mission to Bangladesh. This year, the mission will split between the country’s two main manufacturing hubs, where Italian manufacturers will meet the leaders of the local textile supply chain in two strategic stages: July 7th in Dhaka and July 9th in Chittagong.

The double appointment shines a spotlight on a market that confirms itself as a true cornerstone for Italian exports in Asia—a geographical area that alone absorbs 40% of the sector’s foreign sales, reaching a value of 667 million euros. Bangladesh’s role has grown steadily, culminating in 2025 with a turnover of 71 million euros and posting a double-digit increase (+17% compared to the previous year).

Production flexibility and the ability to create customized technological niches are the hallmarks of the roughly 300 companies making up the Italian textile machinery industry—a highly internationalized sector that exports 86% of its production to 130 countries.

“The 2025 figures speak clearly: the 17% growth testifies that the Bangladeshi textile industry views Italian manufacturers as an irreplaceable partner to win the global challenge of quality and efficiency,” comments Marco Salvadè, President of ACIMIT. “The decision to visit both Dhaka and Chittagong with this workshop stems from our desire to closely support the country’s two industrial engines, offering tailored solutions capable of generating an immediate technological upgrade and guiding local players toward more sustainable models. This journey also represents an ideal springboard ahead of ITMA Hanover 2027, the global stage where we will showcase the next major evolutions of our technology.”

The workshop—promoted by the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and ACIMIT and organized with the valuable support of the Embassy of Italy in Dhaka—will be structured to maximize networking opportunities through targeted B2B business meetings and in-depth technical seminars in both cities. It will feature the participation of the following Italian companies:
