Who defined what is “in accordance with the rules”? Was it done by you, the industry, or rather by your suppliers, for instance the geese farmers?
How the live-plucking according to the rules or the gathering of feathers in live birds during their moulting have to be carried out, is laid down e. g. in the European Convention for the Protection of Animals kept for Farming Purposes (see also: first publishing of the German translation of recommendations by the Standing Committee of the European Convention for the Protection of Animals kept for Farming Purposes on February 7th, 2000 in the Bundesanzeiger [German Federal Gazette], volume 52 No. 89a, issued on May 11th, 2000). The improper collecting of feathers in live geese constitutes an act of cruelty to animals which is prohibited.
