The Italian Designers Shaping Contemporary Womenswear at Scoop
Following the announcement of Scoop's landmark partnership with the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), the Trade Promotion Section of the Italian Embassy in London, a new generation of Italian womenswear designers is set to take centre stage at the show's July edition. Carefully selected as part of the collaboration, the showcase presents a distinctive edit of contemporary collections spanning luxury linen, artisanal knitwear, modern tailoring and effortless everyday dressing, offering buyers a fresh perspective on Made in Italy style.
Bringing together designers from across Italy, the showcase offers a window into the diversity of contemporary Italian fashion today. While each collection reflects its own distinctive aesthetic, together they reveal a shared confidence in quality, thoughtful design and an intuitive understanding of how women want to dress now. From relaxed separates and elevated essentials to statement knitwear and occasion pieces, the edit captures the versatility and sophistication that continue to define Italian style on the international stage.
Running throughout the showcase is a renewed appreciation for slow luxury, collections defined not by fleeting trends but by longevity, craftsmanship and a deep connection to materials. Whether expressed through the fluidity of linen, the artistry of knitwear or the simplicity of perfectly cut separates, the designers share a belief in creating clothes designed to be lived in, worn often and treasured over time.
Among the most distinctive voices within the showcase is Ninaleuca, where founder Benedetta Rossi draws inspiration from the landscapes, traditions and craftsmanship of Salento in southern Italy. Crafted predominantly from linen and produced by a community of local seamstresses, the collection celebrates a slower, more considered approach to fashion. Signature silhouettes inspired by regional dress are reimagined through a contemporary lens, creating pieces that feel timeless, feminine and deeply connected to place.
A similarly personal story lies behind Lavi, founded by designer Cinzia Cinotti. Having grown up immersed in the world of fashion through her family's clothing store, Cinotti developed a creative vision rooted in beauty, romance and Italian craftsmanship. Inspired by her two daughters, whose names influenced the creation of her collections, Lavi brings together delicate fabrics, poetic detailing and an unmistakably feminine sensibility. The result is a collection that evokes the charm of Italian gardens and timeless elegance while remaining effortlessly contemporary.
Equally compelling is Nine:inthe:Morning, a collection built around the dialogue between heritage and innovation. Drawing on traditional tailoring techniques while looking confidently towards the future, the designer creates contemporary wardrobe essentials rooted in exceptional fabric, craftsmanship and construction. Each piece reflects a thoughtful conversation between past and present, bringing a fresh perspective to modern dressing.
At the heart of the wider edit is a celebration of natural fibres and relaxed sophistication. Leading the way is 120% Lino, the collection synonymous with luxury Italian linen. Revered for transforming one of Italy's oldest and most cherished textiles into a contemporary wardrobe essential, the collection celebrates the beauty of natural fabrics through effortless silhouettes, refined craftsmanship and a distinctly Mediterranean sense of ease.
That spirit of effortless dressing continues through collections including Casa Mastro Positano and Feel'O, whose designs evoke the relaxed glamour and understated elegance of life along Italy's southern coastline. Lightweight fabrics, fluid silhouettes and a focus on wearability create collections that feel both aspirational and accessible, offering a contemporary interpretation of Mediterranean style.
Elsewhere, knitwear takes on a more artistic dimension through designers including Avant Toi and Handcashmere. Renowned for redefining luxury knitwear through experimental techniques, hand-finishing and innovative treatments applied to cashmere and fine fibres, Avant Toi blurs the boundaries between fashion and art. Together with Handcashmere and a number of the wider collections, the designer demonstrates how texture, colour and craftsmanship continue to play a central role in contemporary Italian fashion.
Wychi Milano showcases three generations of Italian textile expertise through collections built around exceptional natural fibres including silk, wool, cashmere, linen and cotton. Combining traditional craftsmanship with a refined contemporary sensibility, the collection reflects the enduring importance of material innovation and quality within Italian fashion.
Completing the showcase are designers including Alessandro Aste, Francesca Geraci, Jei's Letizia, Opalina, Ploumanach, RC – Recupero Cotone, Serienumerica, Soho T, Tandem, Karma, Goodmatch, Floor and Pour Moi, each contributing their own distinctive perspective to a diverse edit that spans artisanal craftsmanship, contemporary dressing and modern lifestyle collections.
Karen Radley, Founder and Creative Director of Scoop, comments: "What I find so compelling about this edit is how naturally it reflects the way women want to dress today. There is an ease to the collections, whether expressed through beautifully crafted linen, artisanal knitwear or relaxed tailoring, that feels both sophisticated and effortless. Buyers are increasingly looking for pieces that combine style, quality and longevity, and these designers deliver exactly that.
"This partnership with ICE has allowed us to introduce an exciting new community of Italian designers to Scoop, many of whom are entirely new to the UK market. Together they create a showcase that feels fresh, inspiring and incredibly relevant, while remaining rooted in the quality and creativity that have long defined Italian fashion."
Together, these designers present a compelling portrait of contemporary Italian womenswear, one shaped by lifestyle, creativity and an enduring appreciation for quality. Their presence at Scoop reinforces the show's position as a destination for international discovery while creating valuable opportunities for buyers seeking collections that combine modern relevance with timeless appeal.
As the July edition approaches, this carefully curated showcase offers buyers a journey through the many expressions of Italian style today. Through its partnership with ICE, Scoop continues to create a platform where creativity, craftsmanship and cultural exchange come together, celebrating the very best of contemporary Made in Italy fashion.
Scoop takes place at Olympia National Kensington, London, from 19-21 July 2026.
