Even if down and feather pillows and duvets are durable, they undergo a natural ageing process. While the down and feathers were stored they might have been exposed to damp or damaged.

 

You should have cleaned your pillows and duvets at the bedfeather cleaners´. They sift and clean the material there, pick out the filling components and replace them.

 

To save space, bedding products can definitely be compressed during the transport which is the same thing that happens during the sleep: Though the down and feathers are compressed, they stay resilient. If they are fluffed up afterwards, they will quickly recover their old shape.

 

However, down and feathers will be damaged, if they are compressed and stored for a long time that way.

 

The bed drawers should be sufficiently sized to ensure that the down and feathers are not compressed too much. Moreover, make sure that the drawer is aired adequately.

 

The exclusion of air in bed drawers that are too small is bad for the duvets and pillows so that they wear out more easily.

 

If you place your duvets and pillows into bed drawers during the day, please ensure that they are fluffed up daily and aired regularly.
 

The duvet used in winter is to be stored in summer and the duvet used in summer must be stored in winter. Please, take note of the following: Store your duvets at a dry and well-ventilated place. Down and feather duvets might get moist in damp places which make the down and feathers stick together in their shell.

It is neither difficult nor expensive to care for your top-quality down- and- feather-filled duvets or pillows. Simple measures are sufficient to maintain the quality of your valuable bedding products for a long time span.
