The Trevira CS brand will be presented at Heimtextil 2022. This year the trade fair will be held as a one-time Summer Special from 21 to 24 June in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The booth will feature more than 200 fascinating, versatile, flame retardant Trevira CS fabrics.

These will be displayed in the Long Stay Apartment installation. Changing lifestyles, living and working arrangements as well as the housing shortage in countless large cities mean the Long Stay Apartment segment of the hospitality sector has experienced exponential growth, becoming ever more important. For this reason, it is the focus of this year’s Trevira CS booth. The presentation of the “Long Stay Apartment by Trevira CS” is intended to familiarise visitors – particularly interior architects, designers and furnishers – with the trendsetting, innovative uses of Trevira CS fabrics in the contract sector.

For the design of the apartment installation, the traditional Trevira CS Fabric Competition 2022 was announced at the end of 2021 and invited all customers to submit their latest Trevira CS products according to certain specifications. The winning fabrics will be announced at the trade fair and specially exhibited at the Trevira CS booth.

Director Marketing & Business Development Anke Vollenbröker: “Our exhibition gives exciting new insights into the modern concept of the Long Stay Apartment, presenting the live application of our customers’ Trevira CS innovations. An apartment designed for Long Stayers is a special challenge since it has to provide more than a hotel room or even an ordinary rental apartment: It needs to be an attractive temporary home while also offering the services and advantages of a hotel. We have made the Long Stay Apartment particularly “textile” and included submissions from all participants of our Trevira CS Fabric Competition 2022.”

The Spring Edition of Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles will return to the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from 10 – 12 March 2021, together with four other textile events including Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition, Yarn Expo Spring, CHIC and PH Value. The fairs will offer an all-round business platform and a host of exciting synergy effects for the sector.

High-quality finished products to be offered
In March 2021, the Spring Edition will showcase a selection of home textile products including bedding & towelling, rugs, table & kitchen linen, home textile technologies, textile design and many more. Additionally, the fair will be held concurrently with Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition, Yarn Expo Spring, CHIC and PH Value, offering a comprehensive sourcing platform for the sector.

Lenzing views Intertextile as an ideal platform to present their sustainable home products
The Lenzing Group, a leading producer of man-made cellulose fibres, is amongst the major industry players who have already confirmed their participation in the upcoming fair. Ms Lesley Wu, Home Textile Business Development at Lenzing Fibers (Shanghai), talked about new market trends in the post-pandemic era and the reasons they decided to join the Spring Edition of Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles:

“Even though the home textile industry has, to some extent, been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak, there are both opportunities and challenges for the sector. Without a doubt, environmental protection and sustainable development are the hottest topics in today’s society. Consumers are paying more attention to healthy lifestyles and looking to make a shift to green consumption as a result of the pandemic. More and more consumers are opting for functional and sustainable raw materials. Environmentally sustainable fibres are therefore gaining popularity.”

“Right now, we expect the home textile industry will continue its steady recovery. Home textile companies may look for opportunities in product and marketing innovations, such as developing functional and sustainable home textile products and exploring various O2O business model options,” Ms Wu added.

Lastly, Ms Wu shared why they chose to participate in Intertextile: “We decided to exhibit at Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles because it is an influential trade fair for the industry. As the Lenzing Group has been expanding in the home textile market, we want to use this platform to showcase the applications for TENCEL™ branded fibres in home textiles, and to further promote sustainability through our TENCEL™ Home cellulosic fibres.”

Zwei der führenden Anbieter von Hoteltextilien in Europa, das dänische Unternehmen Beirholms Væverier und das Deutsch/Niederländische Unternehmen Dibella, starten eine Zusammenarbeit mit dem schwedischen Unternehmen Reused Remade. Reused Remade ist für seine klimaschonenden Textiltaschen aus wiederverwendeter Hotelbettwäsche bekannt. Gemeinsam werden sie den Lebenszyklus von Hoteltextilien verlängern und zur Kreislaufwirtschaft beitragen, indem sie ausrangierte Textilien aus Textilserviceunternehmen zu neuen Textiltaschen für den Einzelhandel aufbereiten.

In Europa werden jedes Jahr Millionen Tonnen ausrangierter Hotelbettwäsche entsorgt, die aus Verschleißgründen nicht mehr im Hotelbetrieb verwendet werden können. Dank der zum Patent angemeldeten Methode von Reused Remade, Hotelbettwäsche zu hochwertigen Textiltaschen zu recyceln, werden enorme Mengen an natürlichen Ressourcen eingespart. Eine klimafreundliche Alternative zur heutigen Entsorgung oder zum üblichen „downcycling“ zu Putzlappen oder Dämmmaterial.

Bis 2025 werden alle EU-Mitgliedsstaaten eine Produzentenverantwortung der Hersteller für Textilien eingeführt haben. Dies wird besondere Anforderungen an die betroffenen Industrien stellen, gemeinsam intelligente Lösungen zu finden und zum Übergang in eine Kreislaufwirtschaft beizutragen. Beirholm und Dibella haben beide seit jeher einen starken Fokus auf Nachhaltigkeit und forschen nach neuen und intelligenten Lösungen für die ausrangierten Textilien ihrer Kunden. Zweck dieser besonderen Partnerschaft ist es, es mehr Textilserviceunternehmen in Europa zu ermöglichen, sich der zirkulären Lösung von Reused Remade anzuschließen und aus der ausgemusterten Hotelbettwäsche klimafreundliche Textiltaschen zu produzieren.
