From 7 – 9 December 2022, Cinte Techtextil China will welcome visitors sourcing solutions for 12 application areas of technical textiles and nonwovens at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.

A number of countries and regions are represented at the fair’s International Zone, with companies from Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the US. Standout international exhibitors include:

• TESTEX, an international, independent Swiss institute which specialises in the testing and certification of textile and leather products. The organisation is a founding member and official representative of the OEKO-TEX® Association, and will present their certification services at the fairground.
• Cotton Council International (CCI) is a non-profit trade association that promotes US cotton fibre and manufactured cotton products, with their COTTON USA™ Mark. At this year’s fair they will showcase cotton spunlace fabric, wipes, kitchen tissues, facial masks, cosmetic removers, and more, with their products particularly applicable to Agrotech, Clothtech, Medtech, and Sporttech.
• Graf + Cie AG is a subsidiary of the Rieter Group, and a leading supplier of clothing for carding and combs for combing machines in the short- and long-staple spinning industry. This year, the Swiss company will showcase stationary flats, and metallic card clothing for roller cards.
• At the returning German Pavilion, buyers can source sought-after technical textiles and nonwovens that are renowned for their quality. The companies and expertise on display at this pavilion are endorsed by the Federal Republic of Germany, with several exhibitors highlighted below:
• Brückner Textile Technologies GmbH & Co KG has developed machinery for the textile industry since 1949. Today, the company offers complete line systems for the dry finishing of both woven and knitted fabric, as well as for technical textiles, glass fibres, and floor coverings.
• Perlon (Zhejiang) Co Ltd is part of a global group of companies that specialises in the manufacture of synthetic filaments, with factories in China, Germany, Poland, and the US. Their products have a diverse range of potential uses, largely categorised in the Agrotech and Indutech application areas.
• IBENA Textilwerke GmbH produces various functional fabrics for Protech. At the fair, the company will be showcasing insulative, flame retardant (FR) textiles for firefighting and search & rescue services. Developed with DuPont™ aramid material, their FR properties will not diminish after washing or repeated use.

This year’s fair also sees the return of the Taiwan Zone. With support from the Taiwan Nonwoven Fabrics Industry Association, the area will showcase a range of industry leading nonwoven products and services, by brands such as KNH Enterprise, Nan Liu Enterprise, Unique Pretty Ind, and Web-Pro Corporation.

As a world’s largest manufacturer of technical textiles, China is home to a vast array of companies responsible for innovative products. Some domestic exhibitors to look out for are:

• CTA Hi-Textiles Co Ltd, a high-tech enterprise controlled by China Textile Science Research Institute. In recent years, the company has developed several new textile composite materials, and their products are widely used in sectors such as national defence, policing and public security, medical protection, and engineering and manufacturing.
• Sateri is one of the world’s largest producers of viscose fibre, with an annual capacity of 1.8 million metric tonnes. At their mills, they make yarn and fibre products applicable to sectors such as beauty, hygiene and personal care, medical, wipes, and protective wear.

To help international buyers stay connected with the Chinese market, Match Plus, the fair’s online business matching platform, will support foreign buyers achieve their sourcing goals despite travel limitations. Further information on Match Plus will be available at a later stage.

The fair’s product categories cover 12 application areas, which comprehensively span a full range of potential uses in modern technical textiles and nonwovens. These categories also cover the entire industry, from upstream technology and raw materials providers to finished fabrics, chemicals and other solutions.

Die Textilmessen Heimtextil, Techtextil und Texprocess der Messe Frankfurt starten zukünftig unter neuer Leitung. Bettina Bär verantwortet ab dem 15. September 2022 die Leitung des Segments Heimtextilien der Heimtextil. Meike Kern ist in der Doppelspitze der internationalen Messe für Wohn- und Objekttextilien weiterhin für das Segment Haustextilien zuständig. Bettina Bär folgt auf Sabine Scharrer, die künftig die Position als Show Director der internationalen Leitmessen Techtextil und Texprocess und das Brandmanagement übernimmt. Sie folgt damit auf Michael Jänecke, der nach über 30 Jahren bei der Messe Frankfurt am 1. Januar 2023 in den Ruhestand geht. Seit 1992 leitete er die Techtextil, 2013 übernahm er zusätzlich die Funktion als Show Director der Texprocess.

Die Leitmessen für technische Textilien und Vliesstoffe sowie für die Verarbeitung von textilen und flexiblen Materialien, Techtextil und Texprocess, stehen ab dem 1. Januar 2023 unter Leitung von Sabine Scharrer. Seit 1996 ist Sabine Scharrer bei der Messe Frankfurt und arbeitete unter anderem für die technischen Auslandsmessen des Unternehmens sowie als Leitung von Konsumgütermessen, darunter die Ambiente. In ihrer neuen Rolle als Leitung der Techtextil und Texprocess möchte sie die Leitmessen in Zusammenarbeit mit den Branchenpartnern weiter international ausbauen und dabei die weltweiten Synergien der Brandveranstaltungen der Messe Frankfurt im Bereich Technical Textiles und Textile Technology heben.

Bettina Bär übernimmt ab dem 15. September die Leitung des Segments Heimtextilien der Heimtextil. Bettina Bär ist seit 2012 bei der Messe Frankfurt. In dieser Zeit fungierte sie unter anderem als Show Director im Segment der Konsumgütermessen sowie zuletzt als Show Director der Neonyt; die Messe für Mode, Nachhaltigkeit und Innovationen. Zukünftig möchte sie die Heimtextil mit neuen Ideen voranbringen, relevante Marktsegmente, darunter der Bereich Interior, Architecture und Hospitality, stärken und nachhaltige Lösungen fördern.

In light of the evolving pandemic circumstances in Shanghai, Cinte Techtextil China will no longer be taking place from 6 – 8 September at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. A new date for the technical textile fair will be announced in due course.
 
Ms Wendy Wen, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, explained: “After discussions with stakeholders, and in support of the government’s pandemic control measures, we have decided to postpone Cinte Techtextil China 2022 to a later date. The safety of fairgoers is of paramount importance to the fair’s ongoing success, and we are working tirelessly to provide an efficient sourcing platform for the technical textile industry. I would like to thank all participants for their sustained support and understanding.”

Cinte Techtextil China’s product categories cover 12 application areas, which comprehensively span a full range of potential uses in modern technical textiles and nonwovens. These categories also cover the entire industry, from upstream technology and raw materials providers to finished fabrics, chemicals and other solutions. This scope of product groups and application areas ensures that the fair is an effective business platform for the entire industry. The 2021 edition attracted 366 exhibitors and recorded 14,868 visits. The fair is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd; the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT; and the China Nonwovens & Industrial Textiles Association (CNITA).

With global consumers becoming more conscious about personal hygiene and environmental protection, exhibitors at Cinte Techtexil China will spotlight materials and technologies for products that respond to these trends. The fair will probe into the associated growth opportunities as the country is one of the leading markets for nonwovens and technical textiles. The event will be held from 6 – 8 September at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

The technical textiles and nonwovens industries, the latter notably, are significantly expanding amid the pandemic. A recent forecast[1] predicts that the global polypropylene nonwoven fabric market will continue to rise at a CAGR of 6.7%, reaching USD 39.23 billion by 2028. The anticipated growth is bolstered by demands in end-use industries such as sanitation, medical, automotive and more. In 2020, Asia Pacific was named the largest regional market in the world and is expected to grow significantly over the forecasted period.

The prediction reaffirms the growth prospects of nonwovens. In this regard, industry players expressed much optimism about associated future opportunities during Cinte Techtextil China last year. “The field of nonwovens is poised for a positive growth as the awareness of personal hygiene and pandemic prevention sustains in the domestic market,” commented Mr James Gao, Head of Marketing and Textile Technologies, Uster Technologies (China) Co Ltd. He added: “We decided to join the fair and showcase our new launches as we remain confident in the future development of the industry, especially since China is dominating the global scene.”

Going green is the way forward
Turning to yarns and fibres, the sector is shifting to greener and smarter production that echoes the trend towards sustainability that is gaining considerable traction across the globe. Meanwhile in China, this movement was observed by many exhibitors at the 2021 edition, including Mr Roberto Galante, Plant Manager of FMMG Technical Textiles (Suzhou) Co Ltd, the Chinese subsidiary of the Fil Man Made Group. He mentioned: “The market is paying more attention to environmental protection, and we receive enquiries about special yarns for this every day. We focus on technical yarns for filtration as well as anti-bacterial properties, which are very important for the environment. The potential here in China is incredible and this is a big opportunity for everybody.”

• Erlebnisformate in Frankfurt am Main für die nachhaltige Cross Sector-Community

Neues Datum, neues Format, neues Umfeld: Die Neonyt, Community-Plattform für Mode, Nachhaltigkeit und Innovation, öffnet sich vom 24. bis 26. Juni 2022 auch für den Endkonsument*innen-Markt und verstärkt mit dem neuen „Neonyt Lab“ ihren mehrdimensionalen Sustainability-Ansatz: nachhaltiges Sourcing und Processing entdecken, textile Vorstufen kennenlernen, fertige Modekollektionen hautnah erleben und direkt kaufen. Unter dem Claim „New patterns“, neue Muster, entstehen in der vorletzten Juniwoche innovative Erlebnisformate für die nachhaltige Cross Sector-Community, Branchen-Newcomer*innen und alle Interessierten.

Als Trendplattform und Treffpunkt der nachhaltigen Textil- und Modebranche will die Neonyt im Sommer 2022 das Thema Sustainability in einer zentralen Location in Frankfurt am Main auch für Endverbraucher*innen erlebbar machen. Die Community erwartet Fashion Show, D2C-Trade Show, Konferenz und Showcases, Content Creator-Programm und Networking Space: Neonyt Lab lädt Brands, Konsument*innen, Einkäufer*innen, Designer*innen, Trendsetter*innen und Modeinteressierte ein, sich zu informieren und auszutauschen.
 
In derselben Woche, in der auch das Neonyt Lab stattfindet, treffen sich in Frankfurt am Main außerdem internationale Branchengrößen aus allen Bereichen entlang der globalen textilen Wertschöpfungskette: Das erstmalig parallel stattfindende Trio aus Heimtextil Summer Special, internationale Fachmesse für Wohn- und Objekttextilien, Techtextil, internationale Leitmesse für technische Textilien und Vliesstoffe, und Texprocess, internationale Leitmesse für die Verarbeitung von textilen und flexiblen Materialien, soll vom 21. bis 24. Juni 2022 Kreativität und Hightech, Anwendungsvielfalt und Know-how bündeln. Gemeinsam zeigen die Messen, etablierte Konferenzformate und die Community-Events der Neonyt die Bandbreite an textilen Möglichkeiten – von der Faser bis zum Recycling.

Reifenhäuser Cast Sheet Coating - specialists for cast film, sheet extrusion and extrusion coating lines - will showcase a new production process for cost-effective film/nonwoven composites with an exceptionally low grammage at ICE (International Converting Exhibition) Europe. The leading international trade show for paper, film, and foil conversion and processing will be held at Messe München (Munich trade fair center) from March 15-17, 2022.

The Covid-19 pandemic and current supply shortages have exposed the dependence of companies on global supply chains. This situation is both a warning signal and an opportunity to boost and reorganize the local production of semi-finished products from the ground up. Reifenhäuser Cast Sheet Coating has now developed a trend-setting production process termed Ultrathin Coating, in particular for the sector of medical protective clothing. The process will permit customers to produce particularly lightweight film/nonwoven composites with greater cost efficiency and, as a result, more competitively. The patent-pending process has several advantages: It cuts film grammage by 66%; material consumption in the overall composite is reduced by 28%; and it slashes costs by up to 34% compared to conventional semi-finished products. Significant cost savings are achieved in various ways, for example, by replacing hotmelt adhesives, which reduces line maintenance to a great extent at the same time.

Mark Borutta, Sales & Marketing specialist at Reifenhäuser Cast Sheet Coating, explains: "We are currently experiencing a sustained increase in demand for medical protective clothing combined with a return strategy for local production capacity. Against this backdrop, producers achieve a fast return on investment and high profitability with Ultrathin Coating - even when production is based in Europe." The sister company, Reifenhäuser Reicofil, an experienced and global leading manufacturer of nonwoven lines, provided their support to the development.

Even if manufacturers already produce medical protective clothing and prefer to handle the coating process internally in the future instead of importing the necessary composites, it is worthwhile to set up an in-house production facility. In either case, the investment in Ultrathin Coating usually pays for itself in less than 12 months. The lower material input also reduces the consumption of fossil raw materials and this in turn responds to the increased demand for more sustainable products.

Promising conditions in the technical textiles and nonwovens market are expected to provide ample opportunities for suppliers at this year’s Cinte Techtextil China. The fair, which last year saw 366 exhibitors and 14,868 visits, will take place from 6 – 8 September 2022 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Flexible exhibiting options will once again be available for overseas companies.

Ms Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, explained the positive conditions that exhibitors should expect at the fair thusly: “The pandemic has led to a surge in Chinese exports of both technical textiles and nonwovens, the latter in particular. The country remains the largest supplier of nonwovens, comprising one-third of the global total, yet still requires the advanced offerings of overseas machinery suppliers, as well as supplies of raw materials, to support its export production.”

Ms Wen continued: “Domestically, China is seeing increasing consumption of functional apparel, sportswear and personal protection items. Heightened health and sanitary regulations and new hygiene habits will also continue to drive demand, especially for nonwovens, well into the future. There has also been a post-pandemic boost in demand for filter, greenhouse covering and high-density fabrics amongst others. All of this adds up to a wealth of opportunities for overseas companies to take advantage of, as was experienced in the 2021 edition of the fair.”

Mit dem Techtextil Forum setzt die Techtextil 2022 das offene Expert*innenformat von 2019 fort. Vorschläge für Beiträge können ab jetzt eingereicht werden.

Zur kommenden Techtextil (21. bis 24. Juni 2022), der Internationalen Leitmesse für Technische Textilien und Vliesstoffe, bietet das Techtextil Forum an den vier Messetagen mit Vorträgen, Diskussionen und interaktiven Formaten die Möglichkeit für den Austausch zwischen ausstellenden Unternehmen, Messegästen sowie Forscher*innen, Entwickler*innen und Anwender*innen rund um technische Textilien. Interessierte Vortragende können bis zum 16. Februar 2022 ihre Themenvorschläge einreichen.

Im Mittelpunkt des Techtextil Forums stehen neue Entwicklungen, Trends und mögliche Anwendungsbereiche von technischen Textilien, Vliesstoffen und funktionalen Bekleidungstextilien sowie Technologien, Verarbeitungsprozesse und neue Produkte. Themenvorschläge sind unter anderem in den folgenden Bereichen möglich: Health (Textilien im medizinischen Bereich/Hygiene), Interior, PPE (persönliche Schutzausrüstung und Objektschutz), Building textiles, (neue) Trends, Textilien für Mobilität/Fortbewegung und Sport & Freizeit.

Interessierte Vortragende können Vorträge, Workshops oder Diskussionsthemen vorschlagen. Die Vorschläge müssen in englischer Sprache unter https://techtextilforum2022.abstract-management.de eingereicht werden. Die Auswahl der Beiträge erfolgt durch ein mit Expert*innen besetztes internationales Programm-Komitee.

„Auch 2022 präsentiert sich das Techtextil Forum wieder direkt in der Messehalle. So hat das Fachpublikum die Möglichkeit, zwischen den Messeterminen Vorträge seiner Wahl zu verfolgen oder sich spontan an Diskussionen zu beteiligen. Die Vorträge werden außerdem gestreamt bzw. on-demand zur Verfügung gestellt. So bereichert der Austausch innerhalb der Branche die Techtextil nicht nur vor Ort, sondern auch im Nachgang digital“, so Michael Jänecke, Director Brand Management Technical Textiles and Textile Processing bei der Messe Frankfurt.

Neustart nach coronabedingter Pause: Vom 21. bis 24. Juni 2022 bringen die Techtextil und die Texprocess die Branche der technischen Textilien und der textilen Verarbeitungsindustrie wieder physisch in Frankfurt am Main zusammen.

Rund acht Monate vor der ersten Frankfurter Ausgabe der Techtextil, internationale Leitmesse für technische Textilien und Vliesstoffe und der Texprocess, internationale Leitmesse für die Verarbeitung textiler und flexibler Materialien, haben sich für beide Veranstaltungen rund 900 Aussteller*innen, darunter viele Organisator*innen von Gemeinschaftsständen, angemeldet.

Die Zahl der Anmeldungen für die Techtextil liegt aktuell bei etwa 85 Prozent der Vorveranstaltung zum gleichen Zeitpunkt. Die Texprocess verzeichnet bislang rund 70 Prozent des Anmeldestands der Vorveranstaltung.

Beide Messen finden als hybride Veranstaltungen statt und umfassen neben dem physischen Messeangebot mit Rahmenprogramm zahlreiche digitale Zusatz-Angebote für Aussteller*innen und Besucher*innen. Anmeldungen für die Techtextil und Texprocess sind weiterhin möglich.

Nachhaltigkeit als Schlüsselthema
Ob die UN Decade of Action, die bis 2030 die Umsetzung der nachhaltigen Entwicklungsziele weltweit vorsieht, der Green Deal der Europäischen Kommission, der Europa bis 2050 zum ersten klimaneutralen Kontinent machen soll, oder das kürzlich von der deutschen Bundesregierung verabschiedete Sorgfaltspflichtengesetz („Lieferkettengesetz“), das Unternehmen für Menschenrechtsverletzungen in ihren Lieferketten haftbar macht: Nachhaltigkeit ist ein zentrales Thema, das auch die Textil- und Modeindustrie bewegt und zu dem die Branche aufgrund ihrer Größe und ihrer Auswirkungen auf Mensch und Natur viel beitragen kann.

Mit Sustainability@Techtextil und Sustainability@Texprocess stellen beide Leitmessen im Juni 2022 Nachhaltigkeitsansätze der ausstellenden Unternehmen und Institutionen in den Fokus. Fachdiskussionen ergänzen das Thema. Erneut zeichnen die Techtextil und Texprocess Innovation Awards in einer eigenen Kategorie zudem herausragende Leistungen in Sachen Nachhaltigkeit in der Branche aus.

Neu: Areal für internationale textile Startups
Dynamisch und divers: Die Textilbranche ist in Bewegung und textile Startups sind in zahlreichen Zukunftsbereichen wie 3D-Design, Blockchain, E-Commerce oder Nachhaltigkeit aktiv. Die Techtextil und Texprocess stellen erstmals auf einem eigenen Areal internationale Startups für technische Textilien und die textile Verarbeitung vor. Das Areal ergänzt das bewährte und vom Bundeswirtschaftsministerium unterstützte Areal „Junge innovative Unternehmen aus Deutschland“, in dem sich junge Unternehmen mit Sitz in Deutschland vorstellen, die maximal zehn Jahre am Markt sind.

Der textile Nachwuchs steht zudem im Mittelpunkt des Texprocess-Campus, auf dem sich Hochschulen und Universitäten präsentieren.

Denimindustrie im Fokus der Texprocess
Vom Baumwollanbau, über wasserschonende Färbeverfahren bis zum Finishing: So zeitlos Denim-Mode ist, so zahlreich die Mythen und Fakten rund um deren Nachhaltigkeit, aber auch so vielfältig die Innovationen der Branche. Mit der Denim Future Factory (DFF) widmet die Texprocess 2022 der Denimindustrie einen thematischen Schwerpunkt.

Rahmenprogramm mit Foren und Innovation Awards
Mit den Techtextil und Texprocess Foren erhalten Besucher*innen beider Messen an allen Messetagen hochaktuelle und facettenreiche Einblicke in eine Vielzahl an Branchenthemen.

Hervorragende Neu- und Weiterentwicklungen bei technischen Textilien, Vliesstoffen und funktionalen Bekleidungstextilien sowie Technologien und Prozesse für die Verarbeitung von Textilien und flexiblen Materialien werden auch in 2022 mit den Techtextil und Texprocess Innovation Awards ausgezeichnet.

Neues Geländebelegung und Hygieneauflagen
Mit der Ausgabe 2022 nutzen die Techtextil und die Texprocess mit den Hallen 8, 9, 11 und 12 erstmals das Westgelände der Messe Frankfurt.  Hinsichtlich der jeweils geltenden Hygienebestimmungen steht die Messe Frankfurt in engem Austausch mit den zuständigen Behörden, um den Schutz von Aussteller*innen und Besucher*innen zu jedem Zeitpunkt bestmöglich zu gewährleisten.

Techtextil und Texprocess ab sofort immer in den geraden Jahren
Mit der Verschiebung in das Jahr 2022 ändern beide Messen zur kommenden Ausgabe zudem ihren Messerhythmus und wechseln dauerhaft in die geraden Jahre. Auch für 2024 steht mit dem 23. bis 26. April bereits ein neuer Messetermin fest.

Nur noch einen Monat, bevor die INDEX™20 zum ersten Mal seit 2017 ihre Tore öffnet, und rund 750 Aussteller haben ihre Teilnahme bereits bestätigt. Dies übersteigt die Zahlen von 2017 und zeigt deutlich die Relevanz der INDEX™20 als Anlaufstelle für Informationen aus erster Hand über neue Entwicklungen in den Bereichen Filtration, Transport, Bau, Hygiene, Medizin und Verpackung.  Wie immer wird es eine große Bandbreite an Endanwendungen geben, darunter langlebige Anwendungen und Einweganwendungen.

Trotz der Herausforderungen, mit denen viele Sektoren konfrontiert sind, haben sich die Vliesstoffe weiterentwickelt und sind während der Coronavirus-Pandemie noch stärker in den Vordergrund getreten. In einer solchen Zeit ist eine Veranstaltung wie INDEX™ wichtiger denn je, nicht nur um weiteres Wachstum zu gewährleisten, sondern auch um den Beitrag von Vliesstoffen im Kampf gegen die Pandemie zu unterstreichen und zu feiern. Um sicherzustellen, dass jeder die Veranstaltung unbesorgt genießen kann, werden alle erforderlichen Gesundheitsprotokolle zum Schutz der Aussteller und Besucher vorhanden sein.  

Natürlich ist die Pandemie nicht die einzige Herausforderung, mit der die Welt heute konfrontiert ist, und viele der Möglichkeiten zur Lösung einiger der wichtigsten Probleme wie Luftqualität, Kosteneffizienz, Nachhaltigkeit und Bereitstellung von sauberem Trinkwasser werden ebenfalls angeboten. In der Tat erleben wir weltweit einen Anstieg der Investitionen in erneuerbare, recycelte Materialien und die Entwicklung von Recyclingtechniken für Vliesstoffprodukte in einer Reihe von Anwendungen, während gleichzeitig eine Reduzierung des Materialeinsatzes, der Energie und der Abfallproduktion gewährleistet wird.

Eine Neuheit in diesem Jahr ist das INDEX™ Innovation Lab, das zum ersten Mal geöffnet sein wird. Das Innovation Lab ist ein spezieller Bereich innerhalb der INDEX™20, in dem Innovation und F&E präsentiert werden. Es ermöglicht die Entdeckung der wichtigsten Eigenschaften und Funktionen von Vliesstoffen in verschiedenen Anwendungen und verbessert das Verständnis für ihr Potenzial. Es werden sogar Poster von einigen der klügsten Köpfe der Branche ausgestellt, die aktuelle, noch laufende Forschungsprojekte sowie die Gewinner und Nominierten der INDEX™20 Innovation Awards vorstellen. Das Innovationslabor wird auch einen "Rundgang" durch das tägliche Leben mit Vliesstoffen bieten, der die breite Palette von Anwendungen und die wachsende Zahl von Sektoren, die von Vliesstoffen berührt werden, präsentiert.

Die sechs kostenlosen Branchenseminare finden parallel zu The Lab statt und bieten Expertenwissen zu den Themen Transport, Filtration, Infektionsprävention, intelligente Vliesstoffe und Geokunststoffe. Jedes Seminar findet live in Genf und parallel dazu auf der virtuellen Plattform statt, wo alle Teilnehmer mit den Referenten interagieren und an Diskussionen und Fragerunden teilnehmen können.
