ITM - International Textile Machinery Exhibition, which is one of the world's most important exhibitions in its field and carries its success beyond its borders, will be held in a country other than Turkey for the first time next year under the name 'ITM Uzbekistan'. 'ITM Uzbekistan 2023 Exhibition', which will be held in Uzbekistan New Expo Center on September 12-15, 2023, will bring together buyers from Central Asia and Turkic Republics with the world's most important textile and garment technology manufacturers.

ITM Uzbekistan to be organized in odd years
'ITM Uzbekistan', organised by Teknik Fairs Inc. and Tüyap Tüm Fuarcılık Yapım Inc., will be first held in September 2023, from 12th to 15th, and thenorganized in the following odd years such as 2025, 2027, and so on. The exhibition calendar was created by taking into account the dates of the exhibitions organized in the same sector in different countries of the world and in Europe and the benefits of the sector.

Tashkent New Expo Center
New Expo Center, built in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, will host the most important events of both Central Asia and Turkic Republics. New Expo Center, where many national and international events will be held, will be the gateway of Central Asia to the world. The exhibition center, consisting of a total area of 44 thousand square meters and two stages, was built with the latest technology, taking into account all needs. The new exhibition center, which includes cafes/restaurants, resting areas, meeting, congress, seminar and exhibition halls, is an important attraction center with its proximity to the new airport under construction in the capital and the facilities where the international Olympic Games will be held.

In view of the easing of pandemic restriction policies in China, the Spring Editions of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, Yarn Expo and Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles have been moved to the new timeslot of 28 – 30 March 2023. This will allow both local and international fairgoers more time to prepare for their participation, with a higher industry turnout now expected at the three fairs. The fairs will still be located at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai where they were originally due to be held from 8 – 10 March.

Discussing the change of dates, Ms Wilmet Shea, Deputy General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd explained: “After talking to our stakeholders, we believe adjusting the spring show dates to the end of March is the right move. It provides enough time for exhibitors and visitors from local and abroad to plan for the fairs and capitalise on the ample international business opportunities brought by the reopening of China’s border.”

From February 8th to 11th, 2023, the third edition of IFCO, Istanbul Fashion Connection will take place in the Istanbul Exhibition Center.

The fair with over 600 exhibitors in 9 halls gives an overview of the new collections in the areas of womenswear, menswear, kidswear, denim, shoes, leather & furs. Separate platforms at IFCO are LinExpo for lingerie and hosiery and FashionIST with a wide range of wedding dresses, evening wear and suits. IFCO Sourcing, a new area at IFCO, offers the opportunity to find numerous companies for sourcing capacities.

Also new is the partnership with Igedo Exhibitions, Düsseldorf, which is responsible for the EUROPEAN SELECTION area at IFCO. International fashion labels present themselves at the fair as part of this participation.

More than 25,000 visitors from over 100 nations from all sales channels, from department stores and boutiques to online platforms from Eastern Europe, the Central Asian markets and the Arabian Gulf region, alongside buyers from Türkiye are expected at the show.

The declared goal of the organizers is to offer a "one-stop shopping solution" with IFCO that shows the creativity of the Turkish fashion scene, enables access to new sales markets and at the same time establishes the connection to potential production partners for supply chain optimization. The competitive advantages of production in Türkiye are evident:
short delivery times, high production quality, young and well-trained employees, the possibility of small minimum order quantities, a vertical textile and clothing industry that allows "one-stop shopping".

The manufacturing sector is an important sector for the industry, with over 80% of companies in Türkiye engaged in this sector. Türkiye has the fastest economic growth among the G20 after Saudi Arabia at 7.6% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2022, according to the Turkish Statistics Authority. Export is one of the most important pillars of growth.

The trade fair concept is being supported by the government with several programs. These include the cooperation with IMA, Istanbul ModaAkademisi, which regularly produces design talents becoming an integral part of the international fashion scene. IMA was founded in 2007 by ITKIB / IHKIB with the help of the IPA I program ((IPA: Instrument for Pre Accession Funds, provided by the EU for the EU candidate countries). Young design talents are brought to the stage at IFCO in cooperation with the ‘’Koza Young Fashion Designers Contest’’.

The 11^th India ITME will take place from December 8.– 13., 2022, in Noida, India. Over 1,800 exhibitors and more than 150,000 trade visitors from the textile and apparel industry from all over the world are expected. Groz-Beckert will be presenting innovations from its various product areas..

India ITME takes place every four years and is the ideal technology platform for forward-looking innovations in the textile world. At the 11th edition of India ITME, exhibitors will be presenting their highlights from research and development across 15 halls.

The Knitting Product Division will be presenting several new products at India ITME: Among them the SAN™ SF staple fiber needle and the SNK SF staple fiber sinker, which are specially designed for use on large circular knitting machines. The division will also be exhibiting the SAN™ TT for application-related use in the field of technical textiles for flat knitting machines, as well as a needle which enables the advance into new dimensions of gauge in the flat knitting sector.

Groz-Beckert will also be demonstrating its competence as a system supplier in the field of warp knitting at the India ITME. The warp knitting machine needles and system parts from Groz-Beckert are precisely matched to one another and achieve a uniform and flawless warp knitting process.

With the WarpMasterPlus and the KnotMaster, the Weaving product division presents the latest generation of drawing-in and knotting machines from Groz-Beckert. They are particularly distinguished by their ease of operation and flexibility.

The product area Felting (Nonwovens) presents its product and service highlights for the nonwovens industry. These include the HyTec P jet strip for spunlace customers as well as the GEBECON felting needle, the dur needle, EcoStar felting needle and the Groz-Beckert customer product. The HyTec P-nozzle strip is characterized by improved handling and higher hardness. The patented GEBECON felting needle offers an improved surface finish and optimized breakage bending properties.

The Carding product area will present its further developments for the spinning industry. These include the new stationary flat series, the TV56 revolving top and the cylinder wire set with special tooth geometry. The new stationary flat series is characterized by an innovative tooth geometry and a new type of tooth distribution. The new TV56  revolving top with its new setting pattern and 560 points per square inch is particularly easy to clean. The improved cylinder wire convinces with its special and patented tooth shape, which has a positive effect on the maintenance effort. This makes it particularly suitable for quality-oriented cotton spinning mills producing high-quality yarns. Visitors can also look forward to the new InLine card clothing series for the nonwovens sector.

In the Sewing exhibition area, the focus is on technical textiles – in particular the manufacture of car seats. The answer to the high demands of sewing car seats is the special application needle SAN® 5.2 from Groz-Beckert. The special geometry gives it sufficient stability. The double groove at the point improves thread guidance and leads to a uniform seam pattern, especially in multidirectional sewing processes. The scarf chamfer on both sides of the needle prevent skipped stitches and optimize loop formation. The wear protection is increased by the titanium nitride coating GEBEDUR. In addition, the quality management INH will be exhibited and the functions and contents of the customer portal will be presented.

From 7 – 9 December 2022, Cinte Techtextil China will welcome visitors sourcing solutions for 12 application areas of technical textiles and nonwovens at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.

A number of countries and regions are represented at the fair’s International Zone, with companies from Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the US. Standout international exhibitors include:

• TESTEX, an international, independent Swiss institute which specialises in the testing and certification of textile and leather products. The organisation is a founding member and official representative of the OEKO-TEX® Association, and will present their certification services at the fairground.
• Cotton Council International (CCI) is a non-profit trade association that promotes US cotton fibre and manufactured cotton products, with their COTTON USA™ Mark. At this year’s fair they will showcase cotton spunlace fabric, wipes, kitchen tissues, facial masks, cosmetic removers, and more, with their products particularly applicable to Agrotech, Clothtech, Medtech, and Sporttech.
• Graf + Cie AG is a subsidiary of the Rieter Group, and a leading supplier of clothing for carding and combs for combing machines in the short- and long-staple spinning industry. This year, the Swiss company will showcase stationary flats, and metallic card clothing for roller cards.
• At the returning German Pavilion, buyers can source sought-after technical textiles and nonwovens that are renowned for their quality. The companies and expertise on display at this pavilion are endorsed by the Federal Republic of Germany, with several exhibitors highlighted below:
• Brückner Textile Technologies GmbH & Co KG has developed machinery for the textile industry since 1949. Today, the company offers complete line systems for the dry finishing of both woven and knitted fabric, as well as for technical textiles, glass fibres, and floor coverings.
• Perlon (Zhejiang) Co Ltd is part of a global group of companies that specialises in the manufacture of synthetic filaments, with factories in China, Germany, Poland, and the US. Their products have a diverse range of potential uses, largely categorised in the Agrotech and Indutech application areas.
• IBENA Textilwerke GmbH produces various functional fabrics for Protech. At the fair, the company will be showcasing insulative, flame retardant (FR) textiles for firefighting and search & rescue services. Developed with DuPont™ aramid material, their FR properties will not diminish after washing or repeated use.

This year’s fair also sees the return of the Taiwan Zone. With support from the Taiwan Nonwoven Fabrics Industry Association, the area will showcase a range of industry leading nonwoven products and services, by brands such as KNH Enterprise, Nan Liu Enterprise, Unique Pretty Ind, and Web-Pro Corporation.

As a world’s largest manufacturer of technical textiles, China is home to a vast array of companies responsible for innovative products. Some domestic exhibitors to look out for are:

• CTA Hi-Textiles Co Ltd, a high-tech enterprise controlled by China Textile Science Research Institute. In recent years, the company has developed several new textile composite materials, and their products are widely used in sectors such as national defence, policing and public security, medical protection, and engineering and manufacturing.
• Sateri is one of the world’s largest producers of viscose fibre, with an annual capacity of 1.8 million metric tonnes. At their mills, they make yarn and fibre products applicable to sectors such as beauty, hygiene and personal care, medical, wipes, and protective wear.

To help international buyers stay connected with the Chinese market, Match Plus, the fair’s online business matching platform, will support foreign buyers achieve their sourcing goals despite travel limitations. Further information on Match Plus will be available at a later stage.

The fair’s product categories cover 12 application areas, which comprehensively span a full range of potential uses in modern technical textiles and nonwovens. These categories also cover the entire industry, from upstream technology and raw materials providers to finished fabrics, chemicals and other solutions.

DiloGroup will be attenting India ITME 2022 (December 8 – 13, 2022), an exhibition for the textile industry, which offers a central forum for dialogue within the textile production sector, including textile machine building, fibre production, ancillaries and accessories. For DiloGroup this event is a good oppportunity to inform customers and interested parties about new developments aimed at improving production technologies with a focus on needlefelts.

Focal points of the development work are:

1. Intense Needling:
   The development efforts of DiloGroup aim at producing nonwovens by “intense needling” instead of water entangling, even for light nonwovens made of fine fibres for the medical and hygiene sector with an area weight of 30 – 100 g/m². This would result in a reduction of the environmentally relevant production costs; per annum to about 1/3 to 1/5 of current.
2. “Fibre Pulp Recycling”
   Fibrous material in nonwovens and particularly used clothes can be successfully recycled, if staple length can be conserved in the tearing process. In the classical tearing process, staple lengths are dramatically reduced and therefore these fibres can only be used as base material for inferior uses in thermal or acoustic insulation or in protective textiles, transportation or protective covers etc.
   When recycling textile waste in the context of the collection of used clothes, the so called “filament-saving” tearing using special tearing machines and methods must be used to produce fibres with longer staple lengths which can be fed to a nonwoven installation. Hence product characteristics can be better specified and controlled.
3. Additive nonwoven production
   The additive production method of the “3D-Lofter” is especially suited for automotive parts with differently distributed masses. It is also suited for uses in the sector of apparel and shoe production.
4. “IsoFeed”-card feeding
   In the field of card feeding, the “IsoFeed” method offers great potential for a more homogeneous card feeding at the same time reducing the variation in cross-machine fibre mass distribution and thus the fibre consumption while conserving the end product quality.

Due to rising Covid-19 cases in Shenzhen, CHIC GBA (Greater Bay Area), scheduled from November 2-4, 2022, will be postponed to 2023 for pandemic control and integrated into CHIC Shanghai in spring.

CHIC Shanghai will be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center from March 8-10, 2023.

27^th International Garment Machinery, Spare Parts and Sub-Industry Exhibition, one of the largest exhibitions in Europe ended with great interest. The IGM 2022 Exhibition, which hosted ready-to-wear investors and leading brands of the garment machinery sector in Istanbul for 4 days, satisfied the exhibitors with the number of foreign and domestic visitors and machinery sales.

IGM 2022, Turkey's first and only international exhibition in its field, has become the most comprehensive meeting point of the sector where all technologies used in garment and ready-to-wear production from sewing to cutting, ironing systems to packaging, embroidery to printing are exhibited. IGM 2022, the first international exhibition organized in the garment industry after the pandemic, turned into a platform where many firsts were achieved. Especially domestic machinery manufacturers introduced the latest technologies and innovations developed in the last 4 years for the first time at IGM 2022. In addition, the latest models of embroidery machines were exhibited in working condition only at IGM 2022. International buyers, who had the opportunity to observe and examine all the innovations in the apparel and ready-to-wear sector together, had the opportunity to direct their investments thanks to IGM 2022.

The exhibition, organized in partnership with Tüyap & Teknik Fairs Inc. and in cooperation with KOMİD- Garment Automation Machinery Manufacturers Association and İNSAD- Istanbul Embroidery Industrialists Association, was held at Tüyap Fair and Congress Center on September 8-11. The IGM 2022 Exhibition, which was attended by 100 companies and company representatives from countries including Turkey, Japan, USA, China, South Korea, Brazil, Brazil, Italy, Spain, Germany, Greece, Netherlands, Bangladesh and Iran, was visited by 9822 sector professionals from 64 countries, including 1483 international and 8339 domestic visitors.

Next Meeting on September 21-24, 2023
The next meeting of the IGM 2023 Exhibition will be held at Tüyap Fair and Congress Center between September 21-24, 2023. Considering the dates of the exhibitions organized in the same sector in different countries of the world and Europe and the gains of the sector, an exhibition calendar was determined for the IGM Exhibitions to be held biennially. IGM Exhibition will be organized in 2023 and the following odd years (such as 2025-2027) in order to prevent companies from being under the burden of exhibitions in terms of both time and budget due to participating in more than one exhibition in the same year.

Die Heimtextil Trend Preview 23/24 präsentierte zu Herbstbeginn Designkonzepte und Inspirationen für die textile Einrichtungsbranche. Mit „Textiles Matter“ will die Heimtextil 2023 Maßstäbe für die zukunftsorientierte und nachhaltige textile Einrichtung von morgen setzen.
 
Mit konzentrierter Analyse und Fachexpertise untersucht der Trend Council der Heimtextil, bestehend aus dem Studio FranklinTill (London), dem Stijlinstituut Amsterdam und der dänischen Agentur SPOTT Trends & Business, die Zukunft für den nationalen und internationalen Markt. Nachhaltigkeit und Kreislaufwirtschaft stehen dabei so stark wie nie zuvor im Fokus und setzen den Trend für die Saison 23/24.
 
Textilien sind aus dem Alltag nicht mehr wegzudenken. So vielfältig die Ansprüche der Nutzer*innen sind, so vielfältige sind auch die Einsatzzwecke der Materialien und ihre Herstellung. Dies stellt die internationale Industrie vor eine große Herausforderung. Die Textilindustrie bezieht ihre Rohstoffe aus vielen Quellen und nutzt zahlreiche Verfahren zur Herstellung einer unbegrenzten Vielfalt von Produkten. Dies bietet großes Potenzial für eine nachhaltige Weiterentwicklung. Die Heimtextil Trends zeigen Möglichkeiten auf, dieses Potenzial zu nutzen und nachhaltige Entwicklung zu fördern. Unter dem Motto „Textiles Matter“ werden Ansätze der Kreislaufwirtschaft vorgestellt, die dem Markt Impulse für eine nachhaltige Entwicklung liefern.

Anorganische Materialien wie Nylon, Polyester, Kunststoffe oder Metalle können im technischen Kreislauf ohne Qualitätsverlust recycelt und wiederverwendet werden. Organische Materialien wie Leinen oder Bast werden im biologischen Kreislauf wieder in die Natur zurückgeführt. Die vier Trend-Themen „Make and Remake“, „Continuous“, „From Earth“ und „Nature Engineered“ leiten sich daraus ab.
 
Make and Remake
Gebrauchte Materialien, Altbestände oder Stoffreste erhalten ein neues Leben. Dabei rückt die Ästhetik des Reparierens in den Fokus und wird als gezieltes Designelement des recycelten Produkts eingesetzt. Mit hellen und fröhlichen Farben und Techniken wie Überdrucken, Überfärben, Bricolage, Collage oder Patchwork entstehen neue und kreative Produkte. Überlagerte Farbmuster und Grafiken führen zu gewagten und maximalistischen, zugleich bewussten Designs.
 
Continuous
Das Trend-Thema Continuous beschreibt geschlossene Kreisläufe, in denen Materialien immer wieder zu neuen, abfallfreien Produkten recycelt werden. Vermeintliche Abfallstoffe werden getrennt und zu neuen Fasern, Verbundwerkstoffen und Textilien wiederaufbereitet. Synthetische sowie zellulosehaltige Garne werden somit abfallfrei produziert. Dank technisch fortgeschrittener Rückgewinnungsverfahren behalten die Materialien ihre ursprüngliche Qualität und Ästhetik. Zweckmäßigkeit, Minimalismus und Langlebigkeit bestimmen das Design der Continuous Produkte.

From Earth
Hier stehen die Natürlichkeit und der Einklang mit der Natur der organischen Materialien im Mittelpunkt. Natürliche Färbungen vermitteln Wärme und Weichheit. Unvollkommene Texturen, Abnutzungen und Unregelmäßigkeiten präsentieren eine ökologische und erdverbundene Ästhetik. Erdige und botanische Farbtöne, natürliche Variationen und haptischer Reichtum dominieren den Bereich From Earth. Unbearbeitete und rohe Oberflächen sowie ungebleichte Textilien, natürliche Farbstoffe betonen die Materialien in ihrem ursprünglichen Zustand.
 
Nature Engineered
Natürlichkeit wird neu interpretiert. Nature Engineered wertet organische Materialien wie Bast, Hanf, Leinen und Nesseln mit mechanischen Mitteln auf und perfektioniert diese. Modernste Techniken bereiten natürliche Textilien zu anspruchsvollen und intelligenten Produkten auf. Klare Linien und Formen, kombiniert mit weichen Beige- und Brauntönen kennzeichnen dieses Thema.
 
Die nachhaltigen und zukunftsweisenden Trends werden im Trend Space der Heimtextil, vom 10. bis 13. Januar 2023 in Frankfurt, inszeniert.

• B2B-Format der Neonyt findet ab Januar 2023 2x jährlich in Düsseldorf parallel zu den Fashn Rooms statt
• Messe Frankfurt plant internationalen Roll-out der Veranstaltung

Ab Januar 2023 wird die Neonyt als B2B-Event in Düsseldorf stattfinden. Weitere Satelliten im internationalen Kontext sind geplant. Den ersten Schritt macht die Messe Frankfurt in Deutschland gemeinsam mit der Igedo Company, die ab sofort die volle operative Planung und Umsetzung der Neonyt für den Standort Düsseldorf übernimmt.

Die Neonyt wird künftig als Lizenzveranstaltung parallel zu den FASHN ROOMS in Düsseldorf stattfinden. Das streng nachhaltige Sortiment der Neonyt findet neben den Fashn Rooms-Segmenten Agencies & Premium Brands (Showroom Concept), Avantgarde, Design & Contemporary sowie Accessoires und Shoes eine neue Heimat.

Frankfurt offen für weiteres D2C-Format „Neonyt Lab“
Der Erfolg, den Besucher*innen aus 22 Ländern, dem ersten Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) Event „Neonyt Lab“ im Juni 2022 bescheinigten, stimmt die Messe Frankfurt positiv für weitere solcher Veranstaltungen an ihrem Heimatstandort. Die Internationalisierung der Marke und die künftige B2B-Präsenz der Neonyt in Düsseldorf hätten keinesfalls ein ausbleibendes Engagement in Frankfurt zur Folge: Die Millionenmetropole am Main mit ihrer lokalen Mode- und Designwirtschaft und zahlreichen Kreativzentren und Sustainability-Movements eigne sich hervorragend, um dem Metathema Nachhaltigkeit einen kollektiven Schub zu verleihen und Endkonsument*innen direkt in den Fashion-Diskurs einzubinden, so die Messegesellschaft.

Das Konferenzformat Fashionsustain soll konzeptionell weiterentwickelt und internationalisiert werden. Nächster Termin für die Fashionsustain ist parallel zu den Fashn Rooms in Düsseldorf im Januar 2023. Die Messe Frankfurt plant weitere internationale Spin-offs der Konferenz. Die Fashionsustain fand in der Vergangenheit bereits mehrmals erfolgreich im Ausland statt: 2018 auf der Texworld Paris und im darauffolgenden Jahr eröffneten die Spin-offs der Konferenz in New York zur Texworld USA & Apparel Sourcing USA, in Los Angeles, parallel zum LA Fashion Festival, und in Shanghai, während der Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics die Nachhaltigkeitsdiskussion. Aktivitäten, die aufgrund der Corona-Pandemie ausgesetzt werden musste. Nun nimmt die Messe Frankfurt die internationalen Bestrebungen der Konferenz erneut auf.
