Manteco: new generation recycled wool
A leader in the production of new generation recycled wool, Manteco SpA, Montemurlo/Italy, will showcase its innovations at the Smart Creation platform of Première Vision in Paris/France from September 17-19, 2019. The company works with a traceable and circular economy model.
Products are not only responsibly Made in Italy but harnesses the local skills, traditions and human potential of the artisans and makers working within 10 km around the company. 1,650 tons of recycled material is processed per year, often starting with post-consumer material. It is then blended with other sustainable fibers in order to offer properly qualified and innovative solutions. The results can be quantified in the saving of 41,300 m³ or 24.8 tons of dye products, 4.9 million kWh of energy and 1,484 tons of carbon dioxide per year.
The company offers a unique range of smart ingredients including BiBye, a heritage superfine wool from Australia and New Zealand that gives life to a traceable fabric line. It can be delivered based on its new generation recycled wool. Woolten comes from a patented special carded yarn that blends the new generation recycled wool and Tencel lyocell fibers from Lenzing AG, Lenizng/Austria. Furthermore, Renowa is a zero waste oriented circular economy, fully integrated system that allows customers to confer their production fabric scraps and get back totally engineered Manteco new smart fabrics.
