IMPRIMA strengthens its Operations in the USA, acquiring City Prints and Premier Fabrics

The acquisition is the fifth strategic deal finalized by Imprima Spa , holding controlled by the Italian private equity fund Wisequity IV.

IMPRIMA S.p.A., the holding company of the multinational group dedicated to textile printing and finishing, announces the acquisition of City Prints and the twin company Premier Fabrics, both American companies specialised in printed textiles. 

Imprima, controlled by Wise SGR through the Italian private equity fund Wisequity, now strengthens its strategic positioning, consolidating its global presence as a leading player in the field of printing and textile finishing for international retailers and fashion brands.

City Prints and Premier Fabrics, founded in 1997 and headquartered in New York and Los Angeles, are specialized in textile printing for the programmed collection market. The companies supply printed fabrics, based on proprietary design, to major American retailers such as Walmart, Target and Macy's, to  fashion brands such as Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, and to online retailers such as Amazon. The companies serve retailers and brands through leading private label intermediaries, currently sourcing prints and garments mainly from China.  

As in the case of the previous acquisitions, the brothers Jason and Ryan Borg, co-founders of City Prints and Premier Fabrics, will maintain a leadership role in the management of the companies and become shareholders of IMPRIMA. 

 "Our entry into the IMPRIMA group is an excellent opportunity to consolidate and increase our commercial positioning in the market, through the introduction of IMPRIMA Group’s brands in the US market and the opening of a digital production facility within the US territory, relying on the technology know-how in digital printing and the financial support that IMPRIMA provides", said Jason and Ryan Borg co-owners of City Prints and Premier Fabrics, which currently show a consolidated turnover of over 23 million dollars.

“With this acquisition, IMPRIMA deals with the US market with the goal of becoming the first textile converter with full digital printing capability in this local market.  The current deep crisis of American apparel retailers is pushing the industry to reshape its current supply chain strategy, mainly based on sourcing from Far East, towards a European-like fast fashion model. IMPRIMA, through City Prints and Premier Fabrics, will allow local retailers to leverage the "Made in USA" banner to deliver a great creative experience through a local, reliable partner.", said President Valentina Franceschini, and Executive V.P. Gianluca Boni.

This acquisition of the US companies follows the recent acquisition of the Italian print converters SET, Guarisco and B-Blossom and of the German print converter KBC.

LDT Nagold: Neues Hybrid-Studienmodell zum 5. März 2018

Das neue Studienmodell stellt eine Mischung aus dem zweijährigen Vollzeitmodell und dem 30-monatigen Firmenmodell der LDT Nagold dar und richtet sich an modeaffine junge Menschen, die bislang noch keine praktischen Erfahrungen in der Fashionbranche sammeln konnten.

Ablauf des Hybridmodells
Im Gegensatz zum Vollzeit- sowie zum Firmenmodell der LDT handelt es sich beim Hybridmodell um einen zweistufigen Studiengang, bei dem die praktischen Erfahrungen, die generell alle Studienabgänger der Fachakademie für Textil und Schuhe LDT Nagold GmbH als besonderes Merkmal bzw. Pluspunkt im Gegensatz zu Studiengängen vielen anderer Schulen in die späteren Berufseinstiegsphasen mitbringen, nicht vor Studienbeginn (Vollzeitmodell) oder sukzessive während des Studiums (Firmenmodell), sondern mittendrin in Blockform erworben werden.
Nach Besuch des Unterrichtes des ersten und des zweiten Semester sowie Absolvierung aller schriftlichen Prüfungen legen die Studierenden dieses Modells ein bis zwei Praxissemester ein, in denen sie in einschlägigen Unternehmungen jeweils ein Praktikum absolvieren.

Diese erfolgreich bestandene Prüfung stellt auch die Einstiegsvoraussetzung in die zweite Stufe des Studienganges dar, die nach erfolgreichem Durchlaufen und Ablegung aller notwendigen Prüfungsleistungen ebenfalls zum Abschlusstitel „Textilbetriebswirt (BTE)“ der LDT Nagold führt. Dementsprechend kann diese ‚zweite Stufe‘ entweder gemeinsam mit den Studierenden des Vollzeitmodells im dritten und vierten Semester oder aber auch mit den Studierenden des Firmenmodells der dritten, vierten und fünften Unterrichtsphase erfolgen (Hybridmodell).

Einstiegsvoraussetzung für die Teilnahme an diesem Studiengang ist die zuvor an allgemein oder berufsbildenden Schulen erworbene Hochschul- oder Fachhochschulreife – der Studiengang startet regelmäßig Anfang März eines Jahres.

Loop Linen Certified for Food Service Laundering

Loop Linen has earned the Hygienically Clean Food Service designation, reflecting their commitment to best management practices (BMPs) in laundering as verified by on-site inspection and their capability to produce hygienically clean textiles as quantified by ongoing microbial testing. Loop Linen is a fourth-generation family-owned linen and uniform service company located in New Orleans suburb of Westwego.

The certification confirms the laundry’s dedication to compliance and processing linens and garments using BMPs as described in its quality assurance documentation, the focal point for Hygienically Clean inspectors’ evaluation of critical control points (CCPs) that minimize risk. The independent, third-party inspection must confirm essential evidence that:
•             Employees are properly trained and protected
•             Managers understand legal requirements
•             OSHA-compliant
•             Physical plant operates effectively

In addition, Loop Linen’s facility passed three rounds of outcome-based microbial testing, indicating that their processes are producing Hygienically Clean garments and linens and diminished presence of harmful bacteria. To maintain their certification, laundry plants must pass quarterly testing to ensure that as laundry conditions change, such as water quality, textile fabric composition and wash chemistry, laundered product quality is consistently maintained.

This process eliminates subjectivity by focusing on outcomes and results that verify textiles cleaned in these facilities meet appropriate hygienically clean standards and BMPs for full- and limited-service restaurants and other food service operations.

Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) practices are examined in the Hygienically Clean Food Safety inspection process, evaluating the plant’s techniques for:
•             Conducting hazard analysis
•             Determining CCPs, monitoring their control, correcting them if not under control
•             Validating and verifying HACCP system effectiveness
•             Documenting and record-keeping to show ongoing conformance

Inspections also evaluate practices relevant to handling and processing textile products used in food manufacturing/processing establishments for adherence to U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) directives. Introduced in January 2016, Hygienically Clean Food Service brought to linen and uniform service laundering in North America the international cleanliness standards used worldwide by the Certification Association for Professional Textile Services and the European Committee for Standardization.

Manufacturers of functional polyester textiles from all over the world face the same challenge: freshly washed garments develop an unpleasant odor even after a short wearing period. The cause of this undesirable effect is not the human perspiration itself, but the bacteria that break down the perspiration. This process of decomposition generates the characteristic sweet, pungent smell. Once the bacteria, or the odor molecules, have penetrated into the surface of the polyester textile, they remain there permanently. Machine wash cycles and special detergents will never completely eliminate them. The bacterial colonization produces a biofilm on the polyester, which not only causes unpleasant odors, but also has a negative impact on the properties of the material.

Surface modulation with anti-adhesive properties
This is exactly where the new, dual-action technology from SANITZED AG comes into play: the surface of the textile is "coated" with Sanitized®Odoractiv 10 in the padding process. This creates a protective film on the surface of the textile. The bacteria use this anti-adhesive protective film as the basis for latching onto the garment. The bacteria can therefore be completely washed out in a normal wash cycle, consequently preventing any biofilm from forming. An anti-adhesion test method was developed in cooperation with EMPA to prove this Wash Effect.

The second advantage: Sanitized®Odoractiv 10 has a high adsorbing effect. Odors are "trapped" and removed during a normal wash cycle. The new product is the result of a technology that has been further developed and was awarded the Swiss Technology Award. The odor adsorption is identified using GC-MS.

As the Product Manager at SANITIZED AG, Urs Zihlmann, succinctly puts it: "Sanitized®Odoractiv 10 marks the end of permastink in polyester textiles." Sanitized®Odoractiv 10 can be combined with other Sanitized®products, in particular with products based on zinc pyrithione. The treatment does not influence the feel of the final treated textile.

Wash-resistant, sustainable and still "no nano"
The odor-reducing function is clearly still going strong even after 50 wash cycles. This is even the case if garments are washed at 30°C, either by hand or in the machine, meaning consumers save on water and energy, not to mention that the piece of clothing will look great for longer.

As with all its other products, SANITZED AG does not use any nano technology. The Hohenstein Institute has awarded the company the rating Skin Friendly, the bluesign®registration is underway. The product also bears the label Eco Passport by OEKO-TEX®.

"The unique, dual Odor Control Function of Sanitized®Odoractiv 10 enjoys a unique position in the market and it furthermore fulfills two market requirements: the prevention of permastink and the minimization of odor intensity during wear. WARM FABRICS

After a successful start to the trade show season for Spring/Summer 2019 at View in Munich this December, the company, which is set to exit insolvency proceedings in spring 2018, is presenting its new collection to the industry. The management team is banking on continuity.

As in previous years, Union Knopf Menswear will be present at all relevant trade shows in Europe: at the Textile Fashion Show in London from 10 to 11 January 2018 at The Business Design Centre, London; at Preview Fabrics & Accessories from 24 to 25 January at Showroom, Nacka strand, Stockholm; at Munich Fabric Start from 30 January to 01 February 2018 at MOC, Lilienthalallee 40 in Munich (Stand H1 A02) as well as at the end-of-season Première Vision from 13 to 15 February 2018 (Stand 4F03/4G04) at the Parc des Expositions in Paris.

Hohenstein: Welchen Einfluss haben innovative Bettdecken auf den Schlaf?

Es heißt: Wer schläft, sündigt nicht. Aber wer fragt: Wie muss eine Bettdecke gestaltet sein, damit der Schlaf sündhaft gut ist? In einem neuen Forschungsprojekt geht die Hohenstein Group diesem Ansatz wissenschaftlich nach. Mit ersten Ergebnissen des Projektes ist im Frühjahr 2019 zu rechnen.

Rund ein Drittel seines Lebens verbringt der Mensch im Bett. Der Schlaf dient der Regeneration und dem Erhalt unserer Leistungsfähigkeit. Während des Schlafes kommt der Körper mit verschiedenen textile Materialien wie Matratze, Bettdecke, Bett- und Schlafwäsche in Kontakt. Physiologisch betrachtet nimmt die Bettdecke den größten Einfluss auf den Wärme- und Feuchtigkeitsausgleich während des Schlafens. Schließlich soll sie die notwendige Wärmeisolation bieten, damit während des Schlafens keine Auskühlung des Körpers erfolgt. Andererseits soll die Bettdecke, die vom Mensch produzierte Feuchtigkeit ableiten, um ein trockenes Bettklima zu gewährleisten.

Andererseits soll die Bettdecke, die vom Mensch produzierte Feuchtigkeit ableiten, um ein trockenes Bettklima zu gewährleisten.

Um den thermophysiologischen Komfort von Bettdecken zu bestimmen, greift man bislang auf ein Messsystem zurück, das auf den Ergebnissen von Schlafversuchen basiert. Das Wärme- und Feuchtemanagement wird mit Hilfe des Hautmodells sowie der thermischen Gliederpuppe „Charlie“ gemessen. Dabei werden Wärme– und Feuchtetransporteigenschaften der Bettdecken getrennt untersucht. Mit dem thermischen und schwitzenden Manikin „Sherlock“ erhofft man sich zukünftig beide Messungen in einer Methode zu vereinen.

Sherlock ist der optimalen Bettdecke auf der Spur

Mit „Sherlock“ sollen vor allem innovative Füllmaterialien für Bettdecken untersucht werden. Dabei handelt es sich um neue Materialien, und Konstruktionen u. a. Bettdecken aus 3D-Maschenwaren oder mit Füllungen aus mikrofeine Faserstrukturen, etc. Diese neu entwickelten Bettdecken lassen sich mit den bisherigen Bewertungssystemen nicht ausreichend charakterisieren. Gerade die Betthöhle dieser Bettdecken kann sehr unterschiedlich gestaltet sein.

Mit Hilfe der 3D-Scanner Technologie soll jetzt der Einfluss der Drapierbarkeit der Bettdecke auf die Betthöhle und die Wärmeisolation sowie das Wärme- und Feuchtemanagement von Bettdecken systematisch untersucht werden. Im Fokus stehen dabei die Abhängigkeit der Drapierbarkeit der Decke von den Parametern Füllmaterialien, Füllmenge, Konfektionierung und Inlett.

Ziel des Projektes ist es, eine Datenbasis zu erstellen, die es Herstellern von Bettdecken ermöglichen soll, bekleidungsphysiologisch hochwertige Bettdecken unter Berücksichtigung verschiedenster Füllmaterialien produzieren zu können. Hersteller von Füllungen (Hersteller von Vliesen, Gewirken, Faserkügelchen etc.) können aufgrund der erhofften Daten optimale Füllmaterialien (bzgl. Material und Füllmenge) zur Verfügung stellen. Erwarteter Vorteil der Forschungsergebnisse wird sein, dass Materialprüfungen schneller, günstiger und auch für individuelle Anfragen – abgestimmt auf die Kundenbedürfnisse – umsetzbar sein werden. Darüber hinaus können die Ergebnisse auf die Outdoor-Industrie (Schlafsäcke) sowie auf Winterbekleidung und Bekleidung mit Isolationsschichten übertragen werden, da hier die feuchte Wärmeisolation auch eine zentrale Rolle spielen kann.

Tencent, JD.com and Vipshop Announce Equity Investment and Business Cooperation

(“JD.com”) (NASDAQ:JD), and Vipshop Holdings Limited (“Vipshop”) (NYSE:VIPS), today jointly announced that Tencent, a leading provider of internet value-added services in China, and JD.com, China’s largest retailer, have entered into definitive agreements with Vipshop, a leading online discount retailer for brands in China, such that Tencent and JD.com will invest an aggregate amount of approximately US$863 million in cash in Vipshop at the closing of the transaction.

 

Beijing - Tencent Holdings Limited (“Tencent”) (00700.HK), JD.com, Inc. (“JD.com”) (NASDAQ:JD), and Vipshop Holdings Limited (“Vipshop”) (NYSE:VIPS), today jointly announced that Tencent, a leading provider of internet value-added services in China, and JD.com, China’s largest retailer, have entered into definitive agreements with Vipshop, a leading online discount retailer for brands in China, such that Tencent and JD.com will invest an aggregate amount of approximately US$863 million in cash in Vipshop at the closing of the transaction.

 

Pursuant to the share subscription agreement, Tencent and JD.com will subscribe for newly issued Class A ordinary shares of Vipshop in the amount of approximately US$604 million and approximately US$259 million, respectively. The purchase price will be US$65.40 per Class A ordinary share, which is equivalent to US$13.08 per American Depositary Share (“ADS”) of Vipshop, five of which represent one Class A ordinary share. The purchase price represents a 55% premium over the closing price of the ADSs as of the last trading day on December 15, 2017.

The transaction is expected to close in the near future, subject to customary closing conditions.  Upon the closing, Tencent and JD.com will beneficially own, taking into account any existing holding, approximately 7% and 5.5%, respectively, of Vipshop’s total issued shares. The Class A ordinary shares issued to Tencent and JD.com will be subject to a two-year lock up restriction. Tencent and JD.com will have the right to appoint a director and an observer, respectively, to Vipshop’s board of directors during the two-year lockup period. After the end of the lock-up period, for so long as Tencent and JD.com hold approximately 12% and 8%, respectively, of Vipshop’s total issued shares, or otherwise by mutual agreement with Vipshop, they will maintain director and board observer rights.

Concurrently with the entry of the share subscription agreement, Tencent and JD.com have entered into business cooperation agreements with Vipshop, effective upon closing, establishing a cooperative relationship among Tencent, JD.com and Vipshop. Under these agreements, Tencent will grant Vipshop an entry on the interface of Weixin Wallet enabling Vipshop to utilize traffic from Tencent’s Weixin platform, and JD.com will grant Vipshop entries on both the main page of JD.com’s mobile application and the main page of its Weixin Discovery shopping entry, and will assist Vipshop in achieving certain GMV targets through JD.com’s platform.

schools to discuss the developing role of designers and patternmakers, and the new elements to be
integrated into training programs.

Lectra illustrated future changes through presentations on design, patternmaking, 3D prototyping, and PLM.
“It is fundamental to bring innovation experts in the industry together with fashion schools, because
students will drive the evolution of this industry,” stated Pascal Denizart, Managing Director of the Centre
européen des textiles innovants (CETI).

Working with schools to design courses which meet the needs of fashion companies has always been at
the heart of Lectra’s education program. During the event, the company presented collaborative
experiences between partner schools and fashion brands, such as the competitions organised by Lectra
with Missoni, Balenciaga, and Armani in Italy, as well as Peacebird in China and JC Penney in the United
States.

In the United Kingdom, Lectra collaborated with COS (H&M group) and the Arts University Bournemouth
(AUB) for a competition centred on the design of a collection with zero waste.
“The process was totally digital, from design to the creation of a virtual prototype in 3D. Our students learnt
to optimize each stage of the process. By leveraging the use of Kaledo®, Modaris® and Diamino®, the
collaborative work between AUB, COS and Lectra is exactly the type of project that enormously motivates
our students. Live briefs developed with leading fashion brands and Lectra offer excellent opportunities
which directly inform industry currency and student employability,” explained Penny Norman, a lecturer at
AUB.

The event also shone the spotlight on China and its major role in the evolution of the fashion industry.
Li Min, Vice-Dean of the fashion and design faculty at Donghua university in Shanghai spoke of the event,
organized by Lectra, which brought together major Chinese companies, experts, and representatives from
the biggest schools in China.

“Exchanges on the impact of the Made in China 2025 plan on the fashion industry can better prepare
students for tomorrow’s professions, where digital and automation will occupy a far more central position
than today,” testified Li Min.

"The fashion industry is evolving so fast that sharing insights and best practices with experts and other
fashion schools has become vital to ensure we offer the best learning experience and technology tools to
our students", said Dr. Trevor J. Little, Professor of Textile and Apparel, Technology and Management in
the College of Textiles at NC State University.

This year, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Russia, Taiwan, the UK and the US were the top 10 visitor countries and regions after Mainland China.

Intertextile Shanghai concluded its 2017 Autumn Edition on 13 October as the strong business results and praise from the worldwide participants once again affirmed its reputation as the world’s most effective apparel fabrics and accessories trade event in terms of boosting sales and product sourcing. Knowing the fair covered an all-encompassing range of products that cater to all sourcing needs, 77,883 buyers travelled from 102 countries and regions (2016: 73,927, 90 countries and regions) to Shanghai to source. This year, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Russia, Taiwan, the UK and the US were the top 10 visitor countries and regions after Mainland China.

Meanwhile, a total of 4,538 exhibitors from 32 countries and regions (2016: 4,553, 29 countries and regions) also enjoyed the surge of business potential brought by this large number of high-quality trade buyers. The strong line-up of exhibitors, including 10 country and region pavilions – France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Milano Unica (Italy), Pakistan, Taiwan and Thailand – as well as 10 Group Pavilions organised by foremost industry leaders like DuPont, Hyosung, INVISTA and Lenzing, presented a full-spectrum of innovative and fashion offerings in 11 halls across 276,000 sqm (gross) exhibition area, an increase of nearly 6% compared to 2016.

While the nature of textile trade fairs has evolved over recent years, exhibitors’ successful results at this year’s Intertextile Shanghai shows that it is still the industry’s most effective order-writing and business development trade show because it remains the event where the global industry gathers to make purchasing decisions. As a result, many exhibitors see the fair as their business growth engine, and reported positive outlooks for sales after the fair.

LDT Nagold ermöglicht Abiturienten Einstieg ins Vollzeitmodell

Mit Studienstart März 2018 können modeaffine Abiturienten und Abgänger mit Fachabitur des Abiturientenjahrgangs 2017 und früher auch ohne Praxiserfahrung direkt im 4-semestrigen Vollzeitmodell der LDT Nagold ihr Studium beginnen. Bislang war es so, dass Abiturienten / Fachabiturienten ‚vor der Aufnahme des Studiums‘ im Vollzeitmodell eine ‚12-monatige Praxiszeit‘ nachweisen mussten.

Das eigens für diese Zielgruppe entwickelte neue Studienmodell sieht vor, dass die Abiturienten die ersten zwei Semester an der LDT regulär studieren und einen ersten Studienabschluss (Junior Fashion Manager LDT) nach einer entsprechenden Prüfung erhalten. Die Studieninhalte bestehen im Kern aus den Inhalten der beiden Semester des 4-semestrigen Studiengangs, werden jedoch noch um spezielle kommunikative und digitale Inhalte erweitert.

Anschließend sollten die Abiturienten dann eine 6 bis 12-monatige Praxiszeit in Unternehmen der Modebranche (Handel oder Industrie) absolvieren, damit sie dann wieder an die LDT zurückkommen und die noch fehlenden Semester für den Studienabschluss ‚Textilbetriebswirt BTE‘ erhalten können.

Die Fortführung des Studiums im Firmenmodell setzt natürlich voraus, dass sie im Rahmen der Praxiszeit ihr Unternehmen überzeugen konnten, sie unter Vertrag zu nehmen, um die noch ausstehenden ‚Theorie- u. Praxisphasen des Firmenmodells‘ (Phasen 3 - 5) durchlaufen zu können. In der 5. Theoriephase erfolgen dann die Abschlussprüfungen an der LDT mit dem in der Branche anerkannten Studienabschluss ‚Textilbetriebswirt BTE‘.

Ein weiterer Vorteil des neuen Studienmodells besteht darin, dass die Abiturienten nach der Praxisphase zuerst einmal in der Branche arbeiten und Geld verdienen können, da sie nicht unmittelbar danach ihr Studium an der LDT fortsetzen müssen, sondern dies auch zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt nachholen können.

Der große Vorteil für das jeweilige Unternehmen hierbei ist, dass dieses sich ja zunächst erst einmal vertraglich für eine begrenzte Zeitphase (6 bis 12-monatige Praxisphase) mit dem Abiturienten einigen muss. Erst mit Ablauf dieser Praxisphase entscheidet das Unternehmen dann, ob es den Praktikanten / die Praktikantin a) in ein festes Arbeitsverhältnis übernimmt oder b) mit ihm / ihr das Firmenmodell an der LDT fortsetzen möchte bzw. ob es den Praktikanten / die Praktikantin überhaupt nicht länger ‚unter Vertrag‘ nehmen möchte.

In the first two phases – completed, respectively, in November 2010 and May 2013 – the company recorded a total of 60 chemical substances that are produced in or imported to the countries of the European Union with volumes greater than 100 tons per year. In the third and fourth phase of REACH that is currently under way, all the remaining chemical substances of more than 1 ton per year must be registered by June 1, 2018.

With its expert chemical management system, Archroma, unlike many EU importers of textile and paper chemicals, controls the composition of its formulations and can therefore ensure full REACH compliance of each ingredient in its products.

With its broad product portfolio, Archroma is one major registrant of substances relevant to the textile and paper industries at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). The company expects the total investment needed to be REACH ready to amount to 14.5 million USD.

When creating Design Seeds, Colaluca mixes each color swatch individually. She uses digital software much as she had gouache paint back in the early days of her career. For the seasonal atlas she then works with the Archroma team to translate her collection into selections from the 4,320 swatches in the six-volume Color Atlas. Fans of any color story can then refer to the Archroma color number which references swatches in the Color Atlas. Each color is readily available as an Engineered Color Standard and the digital reflectance data. All colors are also supported in Color Atlas Online (coloratlas.archroma.com) with dye formulas on multiple substrates, Hex, CMYK, sRGB values and a selection of surrounding similar Colors.

Rieker und Ricosta, Goretex, die ANWR-Group, Sport 2000, Huber-Ladenbau , Aktiv-Schuh  sowie Digel menswear und Modepark Röther haben bereits ihre Zusage für 2018 gegeben, weitere Anfragen laufen noch.

Die Bord-Atmosphäre auf einem Segelboot ist unvergleichlich, enger Kontakt und gemeinsames Schaffen der Studenten, der Manager und Sponsorenvertreter ist der ideale Übungsbetrieb für die späteren Aufgaben, welche am Ende des Studiums in Nagold auf die Absolventen der LDT warten.

Das Programm beinhaltet neben nautischen Aufgaben und der Regatta auch weitere spannende Themen einschließlich der legendären LDT-ADRIA-Fashion Show.
Die Inseln vor Split sind ob ihrer Schönheit weltweit bekannt und bieten neben traumhaften Buchten, - kleine Dorfhäfen und Städte mit venezianischer Kultur.
Solta, Brac, Hvar und Vis stehen immer auf dem Törnplan, der natürlich von der vorherrschenden Großwetterlage bestimmt wird.

Zum Stamm-Team gehört neben den Skippern,  Co-Skippern und Staff-Leuten auch der Notarzt Edi, der (selten gebraucht) doch den Verantwortlichen auch die nötige Sicherheit gibt.
Sicherheit hat immer auf jeder Adria-Challenge der LDT höchste Priorität und so kehrten sämtliche Teilnehmer der acht bisherigen Unternehmungen stets wohlbehalten zurück.
Die betörenden Düfte der einmaligen Pflanzenwelt der Adria in den Sinnen und das Salz des Meeres auf Haut und in den Haaren, Gemeinschaft mit besonderen Menschen in komplett anderer Umgebung, dies schafft den besonderen Geist der LDT-ADRIA-CHALLENGE – auch wieder 2018!

Up To Date Laundry Recertified Hygienically Clean Healthcare

Up To Date Laundry, Baltimore, has again achieved Hygienically Clean (HC) Healthcare certification, reflecting their commitment to best management practices (BMPs) in laundering as verified by on-site inspection and their capability to produce hygienically clean textiles as quantified by ongoing microbial testing.
Up-To-Date was first certified in 2014. Recertification confirms the organization’s continuing dedication to infection prevention, compliance with recognized industry standards and processing healthcare textiles using BMPs as described in its quality assurance documentation, a focal point for Hygienically Clean inspectors’ evaluation. The independent, third-party inspection must also confirm essential evidence that:
• Employees are properly trained and protected
• Managers understand regulatory requirements
• OSHA-compliant
• Physical plant operates effectively

To achieve certification initially, laundries pass three rounds of outcome-based microbial testing, indicating that their processes are producing Hygienically Clean Healthcare textiles and zero presence of yeast, mold and harmful bacteria. They also must pass a facility inspection. To maintain their certification, they must pass quarterly testing to ensure that as laundry conditions change, such as water quality, textile fabric composition and wash chemistry, laundered product quality is consistently maintained. Re-inspection occurs every two to three years.
This process eliminates subjectivity by focusing on outcomes and results that verify textiles cleaned in these facilities meet appropriate hygienically clean standards and BMPs for hospitals, surgery centers, medical offices, nursing homes and other medical facilities.


Hygienically Clean Healthcare certification acknowledges laundries’ effectiveness in protecting healthcare operations by verifying quality control procedures in linen, uniform and facility services operations related to the handling of textiles containing blood and other potentially infectious materials.
Certified laundries use processes, chemicals and BMPs acknowledged by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, American National Standards Institute and others. Introduced in 2012, Hygienically Clean Healthcare brought to North America the international cleanliness standards for healthcare linens and garments used worldwide by the Certification Association for Professional Textile Services and the European Committee for Standardization.
Objective experts in epidemiology, infection control, nursing and other healthcare professions work with Hygienically Clean launderers to ensure the certification continues to enforce the highest standards for producing clean healthcare textiles.
