EcoVadis evaluates companies across several key areas, including Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Girbau’s bronze rating places the company among the top performers in its sector, reflecting its dedication to reducing environmental impact, ensuring responsible sourcing, and promoting fair labor practices.

Thus award differentiates and recognizes Girbau as a preferred partner within the hospitality sector and among the members of the Hospitality Alliance for Responsible Procurement (HARP), an EcoVadis-powered sector initiative.

Girbau’s sustainability strategy is built on a foundation of continuous innovation and responsible practices to reduce the environmental impact of its products and operations. Archroma has been awarded a Gold rating by EcoVadis, the global rating agency for sustainability performance.

This consolidates Archroma’s position among the top 5% of the more than 130,000 companies from 180 countries and 220 industries assessed by EcoVadis against stringent criteria covering environmental performance, ethics, labor and human rights, and sustainable procurement.

“Archroma has a clear sustainability strategy that guides all of our efforts to develop and deliver innovative solutions that enhance people’s lives. This is encapsulated in the ambitious environmental operations targets we have just announced for 2030,” Mark Garrett, Group CEO, Archroma, said. “Our enduring goal is to lead our industry towards a more sustainable future. It extends to Archroma’s own operational targets. From 2023 to 2030, Archroma will work to reduce water intensity by 40%, energy intensity by 15% and waste intensity by 10%, with zero hazardous waste to landfill. It will also aim for an ambitious 20% reduction in absolute Scope 1 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from its own plants and processes and a 40% reduction in absolute Scope 2 indirect GHG emissions from the energy it consumes.

Partnerschaften
Die Zusammenarbeit mit MARTOR, OMV und der Mitsubishi Chemical Group hat den effektiven Einsatz von recycelten und biobasierten Materialien ermöglicht. Diese Allianzen tragen entscheidend dazu bei, dass DOMO sein Ziel erreichen kann, bis 2030 etwa 20% seines Volumens an technischen Kunststoffen aus recycelten und biobasierten Materialien zu verkaufen. Im Jahr 2023 lag dieser Anteil bereits bei 13%.

Die Anstrengungen zur Reduzierung der Treibhausgasemissionen (THG) haben zu bedeutenden Ergebnissen geführt: Das Unternehmen konnte seine Scope-1- und Scope-2-THG-Emissionen im Vergleich zum Basisjahr 2019 um 29% reduzieren und ist damit auf einem guten Weg, sein Ziel für 2030 - eine Reduzierung um 40% - zu erreichen. Darüber hinaus hat das Unternehmen die Nutzung von Strom aus erneuerbaren Energien im Vergleich zum Vorjahr um 50 Prozent gesteigert und erreichte 2023 einen Anteil von 18 Prozent an seinen weltweiten Aktivitäten.

Stahl has published its 2023 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report. The report outlines Stahl's recent progress on its ESG Roadmap to 2030 and the steps the company is taking to live its purpose of Touching lives, for a better world.

Stahl’s ESG Roadmap to 2030 includes interim targets for 2023, making this a year in which Stahl reached several important milestones. For example, the company reduced its scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 22% versus 2022. Furthermore, in 2023 the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validated Stahl's scope 1, 2 and 3 targets, making it one of the first coatings companies on the SBTi-approved list.

To reduce its GHG emissions, Stahl is actively increasing its use of clean energy. At the end of 2023, renewable energy generation, such as solar panels, had been installed at four Stahl sites, compared to its target of three.

Measuring – and reducing – the impact of products is an important step in the company’s scope 3 emissions. As such, 353 Stahl products now have either life cycle assessment (LCA) or product carbon footprint (PCF) data, far exceeding the 2023 target of 50.
 
New ratings and certifications
In 2023, 2,161 of Stahl's products were certified by Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC), in line with ZDHC MRSL V3.1. These products represented 70% of the company’s sales revenue, demonstrating increased demand for coatings with a lower risk to health and the environment.

Stahl was also proud to achieve a Platinum rating from EcoVadis for the second year in a row, which places it in the top 1% of companies evaluated. Stahl also exceeded its 2023 target of an average EcoVadis rating of at least 60/100 for their top ten suppliers, with an average rating of 68/100 reported in December 2023.
Fostering a safe and welcoming work environment

A core pillar of Stahl’s ESG approach is how it supports its employees’ physical and mental well-being. The 2023 ESG Report outlines several examples of this commitment, such as improvement in its key safety KPIs for the third year in a row.

Besides keeping people safe, Stahl continues to make progress in fostering an open and inclusive workplace. For example, in support of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), Stahl appointed its first female leadership team member, trained 98% of its staff in DEI and established DEI committees at all Stahl sites. In addition, to strengthen communication, engagement and collaboration across the workforce, Stahl also established an internal workplace hub, MyStahl.

Autoneum Holding Ltd has been awarded the gold medal in the 2023 EcoVadis sustainability rating, ranking the automotive supplier in the top 5% of companies assessed. Following a silver medal the previous year, the Company was able to further improve the overall rating of its sustainability performance in the four categories Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement and achieved the second-highest recognition level.

As part of its commitment to transparency towards its stakeholders and the public at large, Autoneum reports regularly on its key developments and achievements in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). In addition to reporting in line with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, Autoneum uses external platforms such as EcoVadis – a globally recognized sustainability rating agency – to assess the quality of its sustainability management system. EcoVadis uses 21 criteria based on international CSR standards to rate companies in four categories: Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. Since its foundation in 2007, EcoVadis has assessed the sustainability performance of more than 100 000 companies from 175 countries.

In the 2023 sustainability rating by EcoVadis, Autoneum achieved gold medal status for the first time, placing it in the top 5% of companies assessed. Having already been awarded the EcoVadis silver medal in 2022, Autoneum thus moved up to the second-highest recognition level in this year’s rating, thanks to significant progress in the Environment and Labor and Human Rights categories.

The Lenzing Group, a world-leading provider of specialty fibers for the textile and nonwoven industries, has been awarded platinum status in the EcoVadis CSR rating. The rating comprehensively covers the four most important practices in the area of corporate social responsibility: environment, fair working conditions and human rights, as well as ethics and sustainable procurement.

For the third time, Lenzing has been awarded Platinum status for its sustainability performance by EcoVadis, a leading international provider of sustainability ratings for companies. This puts Lenzing in the top one percent of companies worldwide rated by EcoVadis.

EcoVadis has become the world's largest and most trusted provider of corporate sustainability ratings since its founding in 2007, creating a global network of more than 100,000 rated companies worldwide. The methodological framework assesses companies' policies, actions and activities, as well as their published reports, related to the environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

In line with its sustainability strategy “Naturally positive”, the Lenzing Group has set ambitious targets in each of its core strategic areas to further strengthen its path from a linear to a circular economy model. Lenzing reports annually on the corresponding implementation measures and the progress made in its sustainability report. This level of commitment and transparency was particularly positively highlighted by EcoVadis in its assessment. The rating provider also emphasized the Lenzing Group's comprehensive measures in the areas of environment, ethics, and labor and human rights.

Als unabhängige internationale Plattform für Nachhaltigkeits-Ratings analysiert und bewertet EcoVadis die Leistungen von Unternehmen in den zentralen Feldern von Nachhaltigkeit und Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Konkret untersucht EcoVadis anhand eines festgelegten Fragenkatalogs von aktuell 21 Nachhaltigkeitskriterien, wie verantwortungsbewusst Unternehmen in den Bereichen Umwelt, Arbeits- und Menschenrechte, Ethik und nachhaltige Beschaffung handeln. Epson hat sich verpflichtet, ab 2050 CO2-negativ zu wirtschaften und auf den Einsatz von nicht-erneuerbaren Ressourcen (z.B. Öl, Metall) zu verzichten. In seiner Umweltvision 2050 definiert Epson vier Kernbereiche, die im Rahmen der Nachhaltigkeitsstrategie fokussiert werden.
