Nach derzeitigem Anmeldestand kann mit annähernd 400 bis 500 Teilnehmern aus 25 Ländern der international vernetzten Baumwoll- und Textilbeschaffungskette gerechnet werden. An den zwei Veranstaltungstagen des 17. und 18. März erwartet die Besucher der virtuellen Tagung ein Programm State of the Art, gekoppelt mit brisanten Diskussionsrunden und vielfältigen Interaktions- und Dialogmöglichkeiten.

Transparenz für Produktionsprozesse und unternehmerische Sorgfaltspflichten bei Einhaltung von Menschenrechten bei Produktion und Beschaffung nehmen derzeit einen breiten Raum in der öffentlichen und politischen Diskussion ein. Drei Vorträge, die das Thema aus jeweils unterschiedlichen Blickwinkeln aufgreifen, leisten einen Beitrag zur Meinungsbildung.

Politik pocht auf unternehmerische Sorgfalt
Am 03. März 2021 hat das Bundeskabinett den Gesetzesentwurf für ein Sorgfaltspflichtengesetz (auch bekannt als „Lieferkettengesetz“) angenommen. Nach intensiven Diskussionen wird nun im Deutschen Bundestag ein Gesetz diskutiert, das auf Basis der UN-Leitprinzipien für Wirtschaft und Menschenrechte die unternehmerischen Sorgfaltspflichten kodifiziert. Durch dieses ambitionierte Gesetz sollen große Unternehmen verpflichtet werden, entlang ihrer Lieferketten auf die Einhaltung von Menschenrechten zu achten. Die deutsche Bundesregierung bereitet aber auch Unterstützungsmaßnahmen für die Wirtschaft vor, die den Unternehmen die Umsetzung der gesetzlichen Verpflichtungen erleichtern sollen.

Diese Maßnahmen sowie die Kernpunkte des deutschen Gesetzes wird Anosha Wahidi in ihrem Vortrag darstellen. Sie ist Leiterin des Referates Grundsatzfragen Nachhaltigkeit in Globalen Lieferketten und Beauftragte für Nachhaltigkeitsstandards im deutschen Ministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung.

Weg der Wirtschaft: Durch effizienten Datenaustausch Zeit gewinnen
Aus Sicht der Wirtschaft bringt ein Datenaustausch innerhalb von fragmentierten Lieferketten im Hinblick auf die geforderte Transparenz erheblichen Aufwand an Zeit und Kosten mit sich. Die Arbeit verlangsamt Prozesse und Lead Times bei Beschaffung, Produktion und Verwaltung erheblich, was gleichzeitig teuer ist. Dieser für Unternehmen mit hohem bürokratischem Aufwand verbundenen Seite der Transparenz bzw. Hürden bei der Einhaltung von Sorgfaltspflichten widmet sich Andreas R. Schneider. Er ist CEO der Global Textile Scheme GmbH mit Sitz in Düsseldorf, Deutschland.

How to do more with less explored at Kingpins24 Flash

  • Major Monforts denim customers continue to pioneer new initiatives that are pushing the boundaries of sustainable production.

Recycling their cotton waste has become one way these companies can do more with less, and at the recent Kingpins24 Flash online event, Sedef Uncu Aki, director of Orta, headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey, announced a new partnership with leading recycling operation Gama Recycle.

Traceable
“Through this local partnership we will supply the waste from our spinning mills and return around 3,000 tons of premium quality cotton back to them,” she said. “We have established a truly controlled and traceable system and partnering with a domestic recycling centre is important because a lot the carbon emissions associated with recycling usually come from transportation.”

Orta’s ZeroMax range meanwhile uses no cotton at all, being based on Lenzing’s Tencel cellulosic fibre, while the company’s involvement in denim production for a recent launch by Levi Strauss, of jeans made with organic cotton and Circulose – a breakthrough material developed by re:newcell of Sweden and partners – was hailed as a further step forward.

To make Circulose, re:newcell repurposes discarded cotton textiles, such as worn-out denim jeans, through a process akin to recycling paper. The incoming waste fabrics are broken down using water. The colour is then stripped from these materials using an eco-friendly bleach and after any synthetic fibres are removed from the mix, the slurry-like mixture is dried and the excess water is extracted, leaving behind a sheet of Circulose. This sheet is then made into viscose fibre which is combined with cotton and woven into new fabrics.

Circular Park
Omer Ahmed, CEO of Artistic Milliners also announced plans for his company’s new 70,000 square-foot Circular Park in Karachi, Pakistan, at Kingpins24 Flash.

Once complete, this will add three million square metres of additional denim capacity a month to the company’s production and take its total recycled output to a monthly five million metres.
Ahmed observed that there is currently a lack of sustainable fibres that are readily available to use for denim production at scale.

“Organic cotton is too expensive, and in my opinion always will be,” he said. “Cottonised hemp is also not cheap and it’s hard to mix with cotton, while the new regenerated cellulose fibres that are now emerging are promising, but currently in short supply. Recycled polyester is meanwhile still based on petroleum resources which we want to move away from. As a consequence, there are only a few other options for us as a manufacturer and this new project will help us minimise our own waste while significantly lowering our carbon footprint.”

Other Monforts denim customers to introduce cotton fibre recycling operations at their plants recently include AGI Denim, Bossa and Soorty.

Vertical savings
Refresh is the name of the latest collection from AGI Denim – reflecting the company’s significant reduction in water consumption.

The company has just opened new fibre spinning and denim mills at its complex in Karachi, Pakistan.

“Over the years we’ve gone through a series of backward integration steps to become fully vertical,” said AGI Denim executive director Ahmed Javed, at Kingpins24 Flash. “In our latest expansion, we revisited every step of the production processes in order to make resource savings.”

Innovations have included the installation of proprietary robotics for garment finishing, but the most attention has been paid to water savings.

“Pakistan is one of the largest cotton-producing companies in the world and we’re fortunate that the type of cotton that is grown here is well suited to denim production and also helps us lower our carbon footprint, with everything done in close proximity,” Javed said. “In the lifecycle of a pair of denim jeans, however, cotton fibre production contributes 68% of water consumption. While we cannot control how much water cotton needs for it to grow, we can rethink the way we use it in our factory.”

Refresh-branded denims are washed from 100% recycled water as a result of the company’s new wastewater treatment plant, which puts production wastewater through a series of steps beginning with equalisation, followed by aeration and concluding with sedimentation. The water travels through filtration and ultrafiltration systems before being subjected to an activated carbon system and finally a reverse osmosis system to reduce any dissolved salts.

AGI now recycles 4.4 million gallons of water each month – enough to wash a million pairs of jeans.

Sustainable
Monforts has a leading position in the field of denim finishing with its well proven Thermex continuous dyeing systems, Montex stenter dryers and other lines for resource-efficient and economical processing.

“Our denim partners are constantly setting themselves new goals in respect of sustainable production – and more importantly, achieving them,” says Hans Wroblowski, Monforts Head of Denim. “We work closely with them with the aim of constantly optimising processing parameters and achieving further savings in energy, water and raw materials throughout the dyeing and finishing stages of production.”

The latest Monforts innovation for denim is the CYD yarn dyeing system. This technology is based on the effective and established dyeing process for denim fabrics that is now being applied for yarn dyeing. The CYD system integrates new functions and processes into the weaving preparation processes to increase quality, flexibility, economic viability and productivity. A full CYD line is now available for trials at the company’s Advanced Technology Centre in Mönchengladbach, Germany.”

As a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, Rieter closed the 2020 financial year with sales of CHF 573.0 million, which corresponds to a decrease of 25% compared to the previous year (2019: CHF 760.0 million). Due to the low sales volume, a loss of CHF 84.4 million was recorded at the EBIT level while at the net profit level the loss was CHF 89.8 million. In view of the loss in the 2020 financial year, the Board of Directors proposes that shareholders waive the payment of a dividend for 2020.

Order intake of CHF 640.2 million in the 2020 financial year was 31% down on the previous year (2019: CHF 926.1 million). Following the significant slump in demand in the second quarter of 2020 (CHF 45.7 million), order intake recovered in the third quarter (CHF 174.4 million) and improved further in the fourth quarter (CHF 215.1 million).

At the end of 2020, the company had an order backlog of about CHF 560 million (December 31, 2019: about CHF 500 million).

Business Groups
Sales of the Business Group Machines & Systems amounted to CHF 295.8 million in 2020, which corresponds to a decrease of 24% compared to the previous year. Due to the low volume and taking into account the expenditure on the ongoing innovation program, the business group recorded a loss of CHF 72.4 million at the EBIT level. Order intake in the reporting year was CHF 363.9 million (-35% compared to the previous year).

The Business Group Components with sales of CHF 174.3 million (-24% compared to the previous year) achieved a profit of CHF 1.4 million at the EBIT level before restructuring charges. EBIT after restructuring charges was CHF -5.5 million. The order intake with CHF 169.1 million (-24% compared to the previous year) was just below sales.

The Business Group After Sales achieved sales of CHF 102.9 million (-27% compared to the previous year) and a positive EBIT of CHF 1.8 million. Order intake was CHF 107.2 million (-24% compared to the previous year). Over 60% of spinning mills were shut down in the second quarter of 2020, with a corresponding impact on the demand for spare parts.

Dividend
Due to the loss of CHF 89.8 million at the net profit level in the 2020 financial year, the Board of Directors proposes that shareholders waive the distribution of a dividend.

Outlook
Rieter expects the market recovery that began in the second half of 2020 to continue in 2021. The company expects an order intake in the first half of 2021 exceeding that of the previous half year (second half of 2020: CHF 389.5 million). Thanks to the improved capacity utilization, Rieter is planning short-time working in only a few areas in the first half of 2021. Nonetheless, as already announced, Rieter still anticipates that sales in the first half of 2021 will be below the break-even point. In connection with the high order backlog at the beginning of 2021, Rieter expects an operating profit for the full year 2021.

Decision SA, part of the leading European composites consortium, Carboman Group, and a specialist in the development, prototyping and production of large composite structures, is proud to announce a new direct mould tooling technology for aerospace.  Decision’s latest tooling solution provides OEMs and manufacturers with short lead times for highly stable direct moulds for series production both in and outside of the autoclave at temperatures of up to 180˚C.

Decision and Carboman recently delivered the first customer moulds using the new technology, providing a tooling glass prepreg, stainless-steel backed direct female mould tool created for the series production of a Class 3 fairing to a leading European aerospace OEM. Decision has immediate availability and capacity for similar tooling projects with lead times currently as short as six to eight weeks.

With no traditional plug or mould pattern required, Decision’s direct mould process starts with the group’s engineers selecting a material combination for the tool surface and support structure that will provide the optimum match between the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of the mould and the composite part to be processed.  The CNC machined composite face sheet is supported by a stress-relieved metallic or composite backing structure before final post curing and machining is completed. The principal benefit of this novel approach, aside from removing the need for costly and time-consuming plug production, is the production accuracy delivered by the closely matched CTE of the mould tool and the finished composite part.

The autoclaved composite tool surface is not only extremely dimensionally stable up to processing temperatures of 180˚C, but it can also be configured with additional metallic inserts or fixtures if required.  

Produced in an EN 9100:2018 controlled production environment, and with CMM checks before and after machining, the new direct composite tools have dimensional tolerances of +/-0.2mm.  The available tooling dimensional envelope is currently defined by Decision’s 2200mm x 6000mm autoclave.

B.I.G. Yarns announces its latest development, EqoCycle, a fully recyclable PA6 yarn with 75% recycled content, offering the same high-quality performance of virgin PA6 yarn. The new recycled yarn mainly based on post-industrial waste supports contract, automotive and residential carpet manufacturers with a drop-in circular solution to reduce the ecological footprint of their end products.

EqoCycle is made with recycled granulates derived from pre-consumer recycled and regenerated PA6, certified by Control Union for Global Recycled Standard (GRS) Certification. The use of less virgin materials implicates a decrease of fossil fuels by 58% and a 27% decrease in energy consumption. On top, EqoCycle yarns allow a reduction of 37% of CO₂ eq./kg compared to the fossil based yarns. The environmental impacts of EqoCycle with 75% recycled content were calculated through an LCA analysis, verified according to ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A1 and published in an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD registration number S-P-02415).

Customers have the assurance that for every 1.000 tons of EqoCycle yarn, 13,562 barrels of oil are saved and 2.700 tons of CO₂ emission are reduced, compared to PA6 traditionally made from virgin materials.

SGL Carbon SE moves up to the SDAX after all

The Deutsche Börse AG Group announced that an incorrect data basis regarding the index changes published on March 3, 2021, had been corrected. As a result, the SGL Carbon SE share will be included in the small cap index SDAX on the chaining date on Monday March 22, 2021. The promotion to the SDAX is carried out within the framework of the so-called Regular Entry Rule.

The SDAX comprises 70 stocks, which follow the MDAX stocks in the ranking according to free float market capitalization and stock exchange turnover.

"We are very pleased that Deutsche Börse has corrected its previous decision and that we will be included in the SDAX," said Dr. Torsten Derr, Chief Executive Officer of SGL Carbon SE. "For us, the promotion is a confirmation of our restructuring efforts to date and at the same time an aspiration and obligation to consistently continue the path we have taken so far in the future."

This technology effectively replaces the use of screen printing within their operation, reducing their cost per print while making short runs profitable, eliminating inventory and resource waste, speeding production, and ensuring nearly unlimited design capabilities, applied to a broad array of materials, using a single eco-friendly ink set.

While Tayprint predominantly serves as a provider of large-format digital printing, delivering approximately 500,000 square metres of imprinted product annually, they had established a screen-printing operation, as well, generating roughly £200,000 in t-shirt sales per year. While this provided a strong profit channel, screens offered limited growth potential, as order volumes were shrinking, customers demanded quick turnaround, graphic capabilities were limited, and setting up was a drain on both labour and materials. Each of these drawbacks are addressed by Kornit’s on-demand digital production technology, which enables suppliers to imprint apparel in any quantity, using a single-step process, completing the process in mere minutes.

Die Ergebnisse des jüngsten Corona-Gipfels sind für die Hotellerie- und Gastronomiebranche erneut niederschmetternd. Extrem davon betroffen sind auch deren Zulieferer wie Wäschereien. Es fehlt weiterhin an einer Perspektive. Jetzt läuft den Unternehmen auch noch das Personal davon.

„Die Entscheidungen vom vergangenen Mittwoch sind in keiner Weise nachzuvollziehen“, so DTV-Geschäftsführer Andreas Schumacher. „Hier wird eine ganze Branche samt ihrer Zulieferer in Haft genommen, trotz inzwischen besseren Wissens.“ Noch vor wenigen Tagen hatte das RKI den Hotels ein niedriges Infektionsrisiko bescheinigt. Hotels würde nicht zu den Pandemie-Treibern gehören, hieß es dazu. Die Branche und ihre Zulieferer hatten deshalb auf eine Öffnungsperspektive beim gestrigen Gipfel von Bund und Ländern gehofft. Der DTV fordert daher dringend Pläne für eine schrittweise Öffnung, beispielsweise mit maximalen Belegungsquoten von 50% in Hotels und Zulassen der Außengastronomie.

Durch die Vorgaben zu Home Office, die Versammlungs- und Veranstaltungsverbote und das Verbot touristischer Übernachtungen sind Hotels inzwischen fünf Monate geschlossen bzw. haben kaum Gäste. Hotelwäschereien, die aktuell zwischen 80 und 90 Prozent Umsatzverluste haben, fordern von Bundesregierung und Länderchefs ein deutlicheres Bekenntnis zu einer Öffnungsperspektive aufgrund der Erkenntnislage zum Infektionsgeschehen. Doch offensichtlich wollen Bund und Länder der Hotellerie-Branche und ihren Zulieferern weiterhin geschlossen halten – entgegen der RKI-Belege und trotz geeigneter Hygienekonzepte und Nachverfolgung. Erst am 22. März soll über mögliche Öffnungen und über Reisen während der Ostertage entschieden werden.

Permanenter Personalverlust droht

„Wie soll diese Branche überleben? Den Hotels und auch den Hotelwäschereien rennt das Personal inzwischen in Scharen davon. Jeder Tag ohne Perspektive ist nicht nur für die Wäschereien, sondern auch für deren Mitarbeiter ein Tag ohne Zukunft.“ Viele DTV-Mitgliedbetriebe berichten von Personalverlusten in zweistelligem Prozentbereich. Tausende von Beschäftigten in den Wäschereien warten immer noch auf eine Perspektive – doch Bund und Länder sehen sich nicht veranlasst, diese Perspektive auch nur ansatzweise aufzuzeigen.

Hier entsteht für die Zukunft zudem ein riesiges Problem: Wenn Hotels irgendwann wieder öffnen können, fehlt es an Personal, Zulieferern und an der Wäscheversorgung. Die Beherbergungsbranche ist gerade für den Messestandort Deutschland von enormer Bedeutung. Ohne Perspektive werden jedoch die Hotels und damit auch die Wäschereien bis dahin kaputt sein. „Wie kann man eine Branche weiterhin komplett im Lockdown halten, die nachgewiesenermaßen ein niedriges Infektionsrisiko hat?“, so DTV-Geschäftsführer Schumacher.

Textilhygiene, Impfungen und Tests unterstützen sicheres Re-Opening

Die Textilservice-Branche unterstützt die Hotellerie und Gastronomie mit hygienisch aufbereiteter Bett- und Tischwäsche sowie Arbeitsbekleidung. Bei einem regelmäßigen Wechsel können sich Gäste und Mitarbeiter darauf verlassen, dass von dieser Seite keine Ansteckungsgefahr ausgeht. Ebenso sollten Schnelltests und zügiges Imfpen natürlich die Öffnungsstrategie unterstützen.

Auf Wunsch simuliert Hohenstein auch die dazugehörigen Fallbilder in 3D, um für den Kunden das spezifische Fallverhalten des geprüften Materials zu visualisieren. So lassen sich digitale Prototypen erstellen, die im Anschluss die Freigabeprozesse beschleunigen und deutlich weniger Material beim Anfertigen von realen Mustern für die Produktion benötigen.

Renewcell has awarded AFRY an engineering assignment for their recycled textile materials production expansion at SCA's Ortviken paper mill in Sundsvall, Sweden. The assignment includes project and construction management services, process, mechanical and piping engineering, electrical, automation and instrumentation engineering, fire and HVAC design, as well as civil design. The project is a continuation of AFRY's previous feasibility studies.

The trend in textiles and design requires sustainable fashion. Renewcell is a multi-award-winning textile recycling company based in Sweden. The company’s vision is to inspire an Industrial Evolution towards a sustainable world by producing high quality materials from recycled textiles. “There is a way to put fashion first without putting the environment in second place” – Renewcell describes their business concept. With their technology, the company has succeeded in recycling and regenerating textile fiber from old clothes to turn into new clothes. For example, H&M, a partner of Renewcell, has launched a garment that is half made with Renewcell’s fabric.

Today, Renewcell has a demo plant in Kristinehamn, Sweden, with the possibility to recycle over 4,500 tons of textiles each year. The company has now signed a major agreement with one of the world's largest producers of viscose fiber. With that as a basis, together with a well-proven process and technology, they are now building a full-scale production plant in Sundsvall, Sweden. When the new plant is ready for production, it will have the capacity to recycle 60,000 tons of textile waste annually, which is just over half of Sweden's annual textile consumption. The new plant is expected to be commissioned in 2022.

Aufgrund der malerischen Umgebung ließen die Besitzer:innen das frühere Direktorenhaus aufwändig in eine prachtvolle Herberge, die „The Langham Nymphenburg Residence, Munich“, umgestalten. Das Innere ist als Living Showroom, in dem das speziell für das Palais angefertigte Porzellan präsentiert wird, gestaltet. Entstanden ist ein luxuriöses Refugium, das die perfekte Bühne für die Farben von CAPAROL ICONS bietet.

In Abstimmung zur Inneneinrichtung sowie des feinen Porzellans wählte das Team von Mang Mauritz Design, die für den Umbau verantwortlich waren, die Wandfarben mit größter Sorgfalt aus. Die Luxus-Innenfarben von CAPAROL ICONS betonen das hochwertige Interior sowie die Porzellan-Unikate nicht nur, sie erschaffen gekonnt ein einladendes, stilvolles Raumgefühl. Insgesamt sechs „Ikonen“ – so nennt CAPAROL ICONS seine einzelnen Nuancen, die ikonische Momente der Farbkultur interpretieren und anspruchsvollsten Interieurs ein einzigartiges Flair verleihen – finden sich im Palais wieder. Im zentralen Speisesaal verleiht das edle Schiefergrau NO 15 DYNASTY dem Raum einen wohnlichen Lounge-Charakter. Die Farbe ist inspiriert vom Grau der steinernen Wasserspeier, die oft an herrschaftlichen Anwesen zu finden sind. Der einladende Ladies Room, einer von drei Salons, besticht neben seiner Vintage-Einrichtung mit einem freundlichen Grau-Rosé. Der Name der Farbe NO 33 GLOBAL GYPSET bezieht sich auf die Globetrotter:innen und Trendsetter:innen des neuen Jahrtausends, die wahren Luxus in der ungezwungenen, glamourösen Atmosphäre von Insiderorten definieren. Ebenso wie die einzigartigen Porzellan-Pieces die Räume der Nymphenburg Residence definieren, bestimmen auch die Ikonen von CAPAROL ICONS und die Geschichten, die sie erzählen das vornehme Ambiente maßgeblich mit.

Mit ihrem bisherigen Shopsystem Magento stieß das Modeunternehmen an Grenzen: Der Hersteller stellte den Support für die eingesetzte Version Magento 1 ein und auch dem zunehmenden Mobile Traffic war das System nicht mehr gewachsen.

In nur sechs Monaten von Magento zu Shopware migriert
Bei der Umsetzung wurde das Unternehmen von der Shopware Agentur dasistweb begleitet. In nur sechsmonatiger Relaunchzeit wurde ein weltweiter Onlineshop auf Basis der Shopware Enterprise Edition konzipiert und livegestellt. „In partnerschaftlicher Zusammenarbeit zwischen ARMEDANGELS und uns entstand Hand-in-Hand das Konzept für den neuen Shop“, blickt Martin Weinmayr, CEO von dasistweb auf den Projektverlauf zurück.

„Mit einer Art ‚agilem Wasserfallprojekt‘ konnten Konzept- und Umsetzungsphase so parallelisiert werden, dass finalisierte Konzept-Bereiche bereits umgesetzt wurden, während noch an Konzepten für weitere Features gefeilt wurde. So konnte ARMEDANGELS beispielsweise ein sehr früher Start für die Content-Pflege ermöglicht werden, was unter anderem zu einer optimalen und verkürzten Projektlaufzeit verhalf“, beschreibt Weinmayr weiter.

Shopware Erlebniswelten: Einfache und schnelle Ausspielung bringen hohe Zeitersparnis
Schon nach kurzer Zeit konnte das E-Commerce-Team von ARMEDANGELS konkrete Vorteile durch den Relaunch für sich erkennen. „Wir profitieren von schnelleren Ladezeiten und einer viel schnelleren und einfacheren Landingpage-Erstellung, ohne Developer-Bedarf. Die Shopware Erlebniswelten sorgen für eine erhebliche Zeitersparnis in unserem Team“, so Kruse.

Auch die automatisierte Verzahnung von Shopware und ERP sorgen für große Erleichterung, so erfolgt die Retourenerstattung jetzt ganz automatisch unter Berücksichtigung der verwendeten Rabatte. Mit der Migration die richtige Entscheidung getroffen zu haben, beweisen auch die verbesserten KPIs, so steigerten sich durch den Einsatz von Shopware Umsatz und (mobile) Conversion um satte 10 %.
Fazit und Ausblick: Onlineshop stellt sich noch internationaler auf „Wir freuen uns über die sehr gute Teamzusammenarbeit mit dasistweb und Shopware, wodurch ein absolut rundes Projekt entstanden ist, welches wir auch zukünftig weiter vorantreiben werden. So planen wir konkret durch den Einsatz länderspezifischer Stores, eigenen Währungen und neuer Sprachen die Internationalisierung zu stärken“, blickt Kruse gespannt nach vorne. Thus, after thorough consultation of clients and partners, the JEC World team has decided to postpone the next edition of JEC World to March 8 to 10, 2022.

Amidst growing concern among our exhibitors and partners surrounding the critical situation of the Covid 19 restrictive measures and other limitations in place in many countries, the JEC World team has decided to work on a new timeline to hold the next edition of the event in the best conditions in 2022. Thus, JEC World exhibitors were asked to respond to a survey offering two new dates to determine which one would suit them the most. It appeared that 89% of respondents favored holding the next JEC World session from March 8 to 10, 2022.

Jetzt beginnt die Umsetzung der „zwissTEX Strategie 2025“
Die Umsetzung der Strategie wird unter der zentralen Leitung des Business Developments gesteuert. Dafür wurden fünf Fokusbereiche geschaffen welche als unternehmensweite Projekte umgesetzt werden – die zwissTEX BIG 5. Diese Fokusprojekte werden von internen Projektleitern der unterschiedlichen Unternehmensbereiche vorangetrieben. Der Projekt-fortschritt wird in einem regelmäßigen Steering-Committee bestehend aus Vorstand und Aufsichtsrat bewertet.

2020 financial year: operating profit thanks to profitable second half-year Due to the pandemic-related decline in global vehicle production, Autoneum's revenue in local currencies decreased by –18.7% in 2020. Thanks to a global cost reduction program and improvements from the turnaround program in North America, Autoneum achieved an EBIT margin of 1.6%. Furthermore, the significantly increased free cash flow of CHF 112.5 million enabled a substantial reduction in net debt (excluding lease liabilities) of CHF –63.3 million.

2020 was marked by the coronavirus pandemic and its massive impact on the global economy. Worldwide lockdowns and production stoppages at vehicle manufacturers had drastic consequences for the entire automobile industry and Autoneum in the first half of the year. Although the market recovered in the second half-year, the number of vehicles produced for the year as a whole remained well below the level of the previous year. Thanks to prompt adjustment of the cost structure to the reduced market volume and improvements achieved during the turnaround in North America, Autoneum nevertheless managed to generate an operating profit in 2020 in an extremely difficult and volatile market environment.
