“Best CO2 Utilisation 2022” Award Nominees

  • Six Carbon Capture and Utilisation technologies for a sustainable chemical and fuel production nominated for the innovation award “Best CO2 Utilisation 2022”
  • Conference on CO2-based Fuels and Chemicals 2022 – Cologne (Germany) and online, hybrid conference, 23-24 March 2022

Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) Innovations of the Year 2022: A lot of technologies are in place and in development to face the challenges of a sustainable chemicals and fuels production based on the utilisation of captured CO2 from industrial off-gases or directly from the atmosphere. To honor these, nova-Institute grants its annual award, “Best CO2 Utilisation”, within the framework of the “Conference on CO2-based Fuels and Chemicals” taking place in Cologne on 23-24 March 2022. Great submissions reached the nova-Institute and six nominees now get the chance to demonstrate their full potential to a wide audience in Cologne (Germany) and online.

nova-Institute and YNCORIS are presenting the innovation award 2022: "Best CO2 Utilisation"

nova-Institute and YNCORIS together with CO2 Value Europe are looking forward to applications for the innovation award “Best CO2 Utilisation 2022”. The award will be granted at the well-established “Conference on CO2-based Fuels and Chemicals”, 23–24 March 2022 in Cologne.

With the innovation award “Best CO2 Utilisation 2022” together with YNCORIS and CO2 Value Europe, the nova-Institute offers innovators in the CCU field the unique opportunity to present and market their carbon capture or carbon utilisation (Power-to-X) technology, CO2-based fuel or chemical at one of the leading conferences on CO2 as a raw material. The only requirement for participation in the competition is that the product is already on the market or about to be launched in near future.

Conference on CO2-based Fuels and Chemicals 2022

  • Call for Papers and Posters

More than 200 leading international experts in Carbon Capture and Carbon Utilisation (Power-to-X) together with 20 exhibitors are expected to attend the hybrid event on 23–24 March 2022, in Cologne, Germany

Main topics of the conference are strategy & policy in CCU, renewable energy and green hydrogen production, carbon capture technologies, CO2-based fuels for transport and aviation, CO2-based building blocks, bulk and fine chemicals as well as advanced CCU technologies.

Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) is one essential pillar for the supply of renewable carbon besides biomass utilisation and recycling. The transition to the direct use of CO2 as one alternative carbon source is needed as a key element to substitute fossil sources, to fight climate change and to shift towards sustainable and climate-friendly production and consumption. For providing the full benefits of CCU technologies the use of renewable energy is indispensable.
