Source Home & Gift welcomes new Regions

Source Home & Gift, which takes place on the 1st – 4th September 2024 at NEC Birmingham, welcomes exhibitors from new regions including Peru, South Korea and Portugal, as well as returning pavilions from Philippines, Egypt, Nepal, China, and India. Over 180 manufacturers are expected to show at the next edition.

Hailing from Portugal, Bioneurodesign is a company that integrates principles of biology, neuroscience, and design to create products aimed at enhancing emotional and psychological well-being. This approach transcends traditional aesthetics and functionality, addressing the profound interactions between human consciousness and the environment. Bioneurodesign's mission is to revolutionise product design through scientific principles that foster harmony between humans and their surroundings striving to create objects that not only serve practical purposes but also contribute significantly to the mental and spiritual health of their users. Their latest collection of ceramics and iron is a testament to this approach. Inspired by riverbanks, the River collection blends the delicacy of ceramics with the strength of iron, creating unique pieces that are both functional and contemplative. Produced in Portugal, the creations embody the heritage and craftsmanship of the region.

From South Korea, Ecomass is an eco-friendly kitchenware and household goods manufacturer using materials such as sugarcane and recycled plastic. Ecomass specialise in climate solutions by providing technologies, services, products, and raw materials for green management, sustainability, and eco-friendly consumption.

Sumaq Qara’s mission is to support female victims of terrorism and domestic violence in Peru. They offer a wide portfolio of knit, embroidery, crochet and macramé products, working with natural wools and fibres. Sumaq Qara, words in Quechua that mean "Beautiful Leather", was founded in 2006 with the purpose of helping more than 500 women who were victims of physical and psychological abuse during the time of terrorism. With more than 15 years of exporting, they offer a portfolio of products made with ancestral techniques such as embroidery, knitting, crochet and macramé using natural fibres such as alpaca, merino wool, sheep wool, and cotton.

Videos with country focus: Source partners with RETAIL 100

Europe’s responsible sourcing shows Source Home & Gift and Source Fashion have announced an Intelligence Series partnership with Retail 100 to provide guidance and insights into international sourcing.

Recorded in partnership with Retail 100 in the Source studios, the ‘Intelligence Series’ is designed to provide valuable insights and practical tips to help navigate the dynamic world of home and gift sourcing.

With over 100 years of retail experience, Retail 100 provides international expertise and knowledge ranging across the retail sector including fashion, homeware, gifting, toys, seasonal, garden, and beauty. The strategic and collaborative partnership across the Source portfolio of shows, kicks off with a beginner’s guide to sourcing followed by a series of videos covering eight key sourcing regions.

In the first video, ‘A Beginners Guide to Sourcing’ join ex-John Lewis buyers Anna Berry and Sara Allbright from Retail 100 for an in-depth dive into sourcing including where to start, how to plan your sourcing routes, how to create a critical path, as well as country choice, navigating shipping, sustainable and responsible sourcing, visas and travel tips.

The ‘Sourcing Intelligence - Country Focus’ videos explore the unique aspects of sourcing home and gift materials from around the globe. Each video highlights the distinct characteristics, challenges, and opportunities of sourcing in different countries including Turkey, India, Africa, Bangladesh, China Pakistan and Portugal offering valuable insights and expert knowledge to make informed and strategic sourcing decisions.

3rd edition of Source Home & Gift in February 2024

Source Home & Gift continues to go from strength to strength with over 430 exhibitors expected to be at its third edition from 4th – 7th February 2024 at NEC Birmingham.

Uniting global manufacturers and artisan makers who all pride themselves on responsible manufacturing and sustainable production, with key retailers, brands, and contractors, Source Home & Gift increases in size by 25% with producers from UK, China, India, Philippines, Nepal and many more showcasing their wares. Debuting at the show will be pavilions from Senegal and Ghana.

All exhibitors are required to have had a recent audit from Sedex or a recognisable audit institution giving buyers the confidence that they will meet suppliers that have responsible business practices. The show features eight sectors including Homewares, Toys, Packaging, Stationery & Greetings, Gifts, Furniture, Textiles, and Technology & Services.

Source Home & Gift includes a content stage dedicated to presenting and discussing the latest trends and topics in responsible and sustainable manufacturing from internationally renowned industry professionals.

Source Home & Gift came to a successful conclusion after four days of innovation, networking, and collaboration. The global showcase provided a hub for manufacturers, designers, buyers, and distributors to engage in meaningful conversations, explore emerging trends, establish invaluable business connections, and foster global trade relationships.

From the 3rd - 6th September, the second edition of Source Home & Gift which has tripled in size since its inaugural show in February, brought together brands and retailers including Oh Deer, Sainsburys, Dunelm, Haskins Garden Centre, Indico, Blue Diamond, Funky Pigeon, M&M, Matalan, Disney, Morrisons, M&S, Next, Costcutter, AIS, Alzheimers Society, Amazon, B&Q, Card Factory, Ridleys Games, and more.

Hundreds of accredited manufacturers, producers, and artisans from 14 countries including Bangladesh, China, Germany, Ghana, Hong Kong, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Uganda, UK, Uzbekistan, and the first dedicated Egyptian Pavilion organised by Egypt Expo & Convention Authority (EECA) told their stories and showcased their products and manufacturing capabilities across product categories including homewares, furniture, gifts, stationery and greetings, toys, textiles, household and pet supplies, and packaging.

The next show takes place on the 4th – 7th February 2024.
