Gewinner der Cellulosefaser-Innovationen des Jahres

Jährlicher Höhepunkt der Branche ist die International Conference on Cellulose Fibres in Köln, auf der die neuesten Entwicklungen vorgestellt wurden: neue Cellulosefasertechnologien für verschiedene Rohstoffe und eine breite Palette von Hygiene- und Textilprodukten sowie Alternativen zu Kunststoffen und Kohlefasern für Leichtbaukonstruktionen.

In diesem Jahr nahmen zum ersten Mal 230 Teilnehmer aus 27 Ländern teil. Etwa 60 konnten unter strikten Corona-Sicherheitsvorkehrungen vor Ort dabei sein, die anderen nahmen online teil und konnten sich an Fragen und Diskussionen beteiligen.

Die Konferenz gab tiefe Einblicke in die vielversprechende Zukunft von Cellulosefasern, die perfekt zu den aktuellen Trends der Kreislaufwirtschaft, des Recyclings und der nachhaltigen Kohlenstoffkreisläufe passen.

Auf der Konferenz wurde in Vorträgen und Podiumsdiskussionen eine Vielzahl von landwirtschaftlichen Nebenprodukten und biogenen Abfällen vorgestellt, wie z. B. Orangen- und Bananenschalen, Getreide und Hanfstroh. Vieles davon ist großvolumig und wurde bisher nicht wertschöpfend verwertet. Spannende Möglichkeiten für die Cellulosefaserindustrie der Zukunft.

International Conference on Cellulose Fibres 2022 presents final program

The final program will provide valuable information on the various use-opportunities for cellulosic fibres through a policy overview, a special session on sustainability, recycling and alternative feedstocks, as well as the latest developments in pulp, cellulosic fibres and yarns. In addition, examples of non-wovens, packaging and composites will offer a look beyond the horizon of conventional application fields.

You can expect to see the “Top 6” candidates of the “Cellulose Fibre Innovation of the Year 2022” in Cologne. For the second time, the innovation award will be granted to the innovative cellulose fibre industry for developing new technologies and applications. All producers and inventors along the entire value chain from feedstock to the final product are invited to join the competition. The Cellulose Fibre Innovation of the Year 2022 Award will be voted for by conference delegates as well as online participants on the afternoon of 2 February.

The extensive fifth conference session, “New Technologies for Pulp, Fibres and Yarns”, includes the participation of eight speakers and promises the reveal of various innovations and new approaches. These address the processing of pulp, fibres and yarn, with the aim of realizing most sustainable and efficient solutions. The broad spectrum of topics ranges from processing cellulose with ionic liquids, material farming and chemical modification of pulp to functionalised fibres for feel-good textiles.

The fourth session, "Recycling and other alternative raw materials", will cover topics ranging from textile recycling - both cotton and regenerated cellulose fibres - to the use of hemp shives as raw material. Self-initiated cooperation and waste management pave the way to a fully closed European material loop where textile waste is collected, recycled and reprocessed into new raw materials.

The speakers will demonstrate the importance of cooperation in recycling fabrics already in circulation, perfectly following the topics and discussions of the previous conference day.

Das nova-Institut und YNCORIS freuen sich gemeinsam mit CO2 Value Europe auf Bewerbungen für den Innovationspreis „Best CO2 Utilisation 2022“, der im Rahmen der etablierten „Conference on CO2-based Fuels and Chemicals“ vom 23. bis 24. März 2022 in Köln verliehen wird.

Mit dem Innovationspreis „Best CO2 Utilisation 2022“ bietet das nova-Institut gemeinsam mit YNCORIS und CO2 Value Europe allen Pionieren im CCU-Bereich die einmalige Gelegenheit, ihre Carbon Capture-oder Carbon Utilisation (Power-to-X)-Technologie, ihren CO2-basierten Treibstoff oder ihre Chemikalie auf einer der führenden Konferenzen zum Thema CO2 als Rohstoff zu präsentieren und zu vermarkten. Zum zweiten Mal präsentiert das nova-Institut zahlreiche Markt-Highlights aus dem Spektrum der bio- und CO2-basierten Chemikalien und Materialien sowie dem chemischen Recycling: Alle Werkstofflösungen die auf erneuerbarem Kohlenstoff basieren. Zusammengenommen haben sie das Potenzial, um die Petrochemie bis 2050 vollständig zu abzulösen. Denn um den Klimawandel an der Wurzel zu packen, muss jeder zusätzliche fossile Kohlenstoff aus dem Boden durch erneuerbare Alternativen ersetzt werden. An drei Tagen erhalten die Teilnehmer einen umfassenden Überblick über die neuesten Entwicklungen im Bereich der erneuerbaren Materialien, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf marktreifen Lösungen aus einem breiten Spektrum der nachhaltigen Rohstoffe und Technologien liegt.

Im Jahr 2021 stieß das neue Konzept der Konferenz für nachwachsende Rohstoffe auf eine hervorragende Resonanz, die alle Erwartungen übertraf: 420 Online-Teilnehmer erlebten ein Feuerwerk an Innovationen aus nicht-fossilen Materialien. 60 Redner, 11 Podiumsdiskussionen, 500 öffentliche Beiträge und 1.500 Vernetzungsaktivitäten zeugten von einem regen Austausch während der drei Konferenztage.

Im Jahr 2022 plant das nova-Institut, die Konferenz im Herzen der viertgrößten Stadt Deutschlands, Köln, auszurichten, nur wenige Stunden von Frankreich, Belgien und den Niederlanden entfernt. Erwartet werden 400 Teilnehmer vor Ort und viele weitere online. Vor Ort wird die Konferenz von einer großen Ausstellung begleitet, auf der Unternehmen und Institute ihre neuesten Entwicklungen vorstellen können. Das Rahmenprogramm, die Networking-Aktivitäten und die vielen ruhige Bereiche am Veranstaltungsort bieten hervorragende Möglichkeiten, neue Geschäftskontakte zu knüpfen und alte wieder aufzufrischen.

Der Schwerpunkt der Konferenz: Alle Materiallösungen, die auf erneuerbarem Kohlenstoff basieren – und damit den Einsatz von zusätzlichem fossilem Kohlenstoff vermeiden. Das gesamte Spektrum der erneuerbaren Materialien wird abgedeckt: bio-basiert, CO2-basiert und recycelt.
