Während einer dreitägigen Open-House-Veranstaltung von Electronics For Imaging, Inc. in der EFI™ Reggiani Textildruckerei des Unternehmens konnten sich Textil- und Bekleidungshersteller von den Innovationen überzeugen, die den Anwendern vielversprechende neue Möglichkeiten eröffnen. Die Open-House-Veranstaltung im Dezember, an der mehr als 70 Besucher aus über 23 verschiedenen Ländern Europas, Südamerikas und des Nahen Ostens teilnahmen, bot informative Diskussionsrunden mit Produktexperten zu einer breiten Palette von Themen, die neue und trendige Marktanwendungen für Textilhersteller umfassten.

Während der Open-House-Veranstaltung wurden den Besuchern acht moderne Digitaldrucker live vorgeführt, darunter der neue EFI Reggiani HYPER, der EFI Reggiani TERRA Silver Multi-Pass-Drucker mit Scanfunktion, der EFI Reggiani BLAZE sowie der EFI Reggiani BOLT – der preisgekrönte Single-Pass-Drucker, der weltweit einer der schnellsten Textil-Digitaldruckern ist.

EFI Reggiani HYPER – a fast scanning digital printer
Der neue EFI Reggiani HYPER ist ein Drucker mit Scanfunktion, der in den Breiten 1,80 Meter, 2,40 Meter und 3,40 Meter erhältlich ist. Das Modell Reggiani HYPER zielt auf das industrielle Hochgeschwindigkeits-Segment im Bereich des Multi-Pass-Textildrucks.

Bei einer Konfiguration von bis zu acht Farben druckt er mit einer Geschwindigkeit von bis zu 13 laufenden Metern pro Minute im Produktionsmodus mit zwei Durchgängen. Der neue Drucker eignet sich für die hochwertige Produktion auf gestrickten oder gewebten Textilien und ist mit einer intelligenten Technologie ausgestattet, die es ermöglicht, ihn in Industrie 4.0 Projekte zu integrieren.

Nachhaltiger Druck direkt auf Textilien mit dem EFI Reggiani TERRA Silver
Die neue Version des TERRA Silver Druckers, die bei der Open-House-Veranstaltung vorgestellt wurde, ist Teil der kompletten TERRA Produktreihe für Pigmenttintendrucker von EFI. Mit einem kurzen, intelligenten und umweltfreundlichen Produktionsprozess ermöglicht er Druckdienstleistern den Einstieg in die Welt des industriellen Textildrucks.
Weitere Merkmale des Druckers:

• Eine neue Tintenrückführung für eine überragende Zuverlässigkeit und minimale Wartung
• Mehrere Druckmodi, die maximale Flexibilität im Hinblick auf das Design sicherstellen

EFI Reggiani BLAZE, die ideale Einstiegslösung für den industriellen Textildruck
Der Drucker EFI Reggiani BLAZE wurde entworfen, um Textilherstellern die Möglichkeit zu bieten, mit einer kompakten Lösung in das Marktsegment des digitalen Textildrucks einzusteigen. Der neue, 1,80 Meter breite Drucker bietet ein innovatives, wartungsarmes System für fortlaufende Tintenrückführung mit Füllstandssensor und Entgasung sowie ein Ausfallschutzsystem für die Köpfe, das die Lebensdauer der Druckköpfe verlängert und die Betriebszeit verbessert.

Der verbesserte EFI Reggiani BOLT
Im Jahr 2021 erhielt der EFI Reggiani BOLT eine Kombination aus Hardware- und Softwareverbesserungen, die die Artefaktbildung minimieren, den Ausfall einzelner Düsen kompensieren, was im Laufe der Zeit auftreten kann, und die Homogenität verbessern, um so gleichmäßigere Volltonfarben zu liefern. Das Upgrade liefert nicht nur eine höhere Qualität und sanftere Gradienten, sondern beschleunigt auch das Auswechseln der Druckköpfe und sorgt für eine drastische Erhöhung der Dateiverarbeitungsgeschwindigkeit um bis zu 200 % für große, komplexe Dateien.

Electronics For Imaging, Inc. kündigte den neuesten und zukunftsweisendsten Schritt für die Serverlösung mit digitalem Front-End (DFE) für den Digitaldruck an – die neue EFI™ Fiery® FS500 Pro Plattform. Der Fiery FS500 Pro hilft Druckdienstleistern, die Herausforderungen, denen sie sich durch kleinere Auflagen, kürzere Bearbeitungszeiten, weniger erfahrene Mitarbeiter, höhere Sicherheitsstandards und die Notwendigkeit von Kosteneinsparungen stellen müssen, zu meistern. Die neue Fiery Plattform für das digitale Front-End bringt Innovationen in zahlreiche neue, hochmoderne Digitaldrucker für den Bürobedarfs-, Akzidenz-, Betriebs-, Verpackungs- und Textildruck.  

Die Fiery FS500 Pro Plattform zeichnet sich durch fünf Innovationen aus:

• Schnellere Verarbeitung von Druckaufträgen. Druckdienstleister profitieren von einer schnelleren Auftragsverarbeitung und einer bis zu 40 % schnelleren Anwendungsstartzeit und können so mehr Aufträge pro Schicht produzieren.
• Kürzere Bearbeitungszeit bei Kleinauflagen. In Druckereien mit hohem Durchsatz beschleunigen die erweiterten Funktionen von Fiery die Verwaltung und Produktion von Druckaufträgen.
• Mehr verkaufsfähige Drucke, weniger Ausschuss. Der Fiery FS500 Pro verfügt über mehr Tools zur Erkennung potenzieller Fehler in Dateien, was sowohl die Produktionszeit als auch den Ausschuss reduziert.

• The new, industrial, entry-level EFI™ Reggiani TERRA Silver textile printer from Electronics For Imaging, Inc. is making its debut at the Fespa Global Print Expo 2021 tradeshow, 12-15 October at RAI Amsterdam.
• The EFI Reggiani TERRA Silver uses unique TERRA pigment ink for high-quality, highly sustainable direct-to-textile printing without steaming or washing.       

“This is one of the first trade shows to return after the pandemic, and we are very excited to again meet customers in person and showcase an innovative offering that delivers superior printing results while using less time, water and energy,” said EFI Reggiani Vice President and General Manager Adele Genoni. “We are introducing this advanced EFI Reggiani TERRA Silver solution to the many print service providers at Fespa, presenting them with an ideal path to enter the industrial textile segment with a short, smart and green production process.”

The new-version TERRA Silver printer is part of EFI’s complete TERRA line-up of pigment ink printer solutions. It is a 180-cm wide printer that can print up to 190 sqm per hour with eight dual-channel printheads. The printer also features:

The journey into the new dimension of responsible quality continues with ad hoc developments in the field of GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified recycled yarns, aimed at unprecedented effects both in look, in performance and in the hands of fabrics. The cord yarn is a precious yarn with a ROICA™ EF premium stretch yarn core, GRS certified and developed with 50% of pre-consumer waste materials content - double, covered with an equally recycled shiny thread; the bright and translucent is instead to add brilliant effects so far not possible with a GRS yarn.

Baldwin Technology Company Inc. will showcase a new generation of innovative technologies for optimized corrugated high-graphics package printing at SuperCorrExpo, taking place in Orlando, Florida, from Aug. 8 to 12.

The FlexoCleanerBrush™ enhances the print quality and improves worker safety in corrugated printing. The system automatically removes dust and contamination from the plate in seconds during production, without stopping the press. It also performs full end-of-job plate cleaning and drying in fewer than four minutes, enabling increased uptime and sustainability. A carbon fiber core keeps even the ultra-wide FlexoCleanerBrush to a minimal weight, and ensures cleaning is stable, uniform and consistent throughout the plate’s width. Because the system is fully automatic and spans the entire width of the plate cylinder, the FlexoCleanerBrush improves safety by eliminating routine operator contact with the machine, while also reducing the risk of cylinder nip injuries and contact with wash agents.

Also on view in Baldwin’s SuperCorrExpo booth, the FlexoDry™ is a fully integrated IR drying system, specifically developed for corrugated flexo printing presses. It reduces energy consumption by up to 30 percent over standard IR dryers through patented Diamond IR™ lamps. The system delivers improved drying results because of a unique optical design that produces higher intensity for enhanced color definition, and reduces or eliminates marking altogether, allowing for high-speed and full-confidence printing.

Additionally, Baldwin will showcase LED-UV technology, designed by its AMS Spectral UV division for wide-format flexo corrugated box printing.

Electronics For Imaging, Inc. has enhanced its fastest digital textile printer, the EFI™ Reggiani BOLT. The upgrade is a combination of hardware and software enhancements that will minimise artefacts, compensating for missing nozzles that may occur over time and enhancing uniformity to deliver smoother solid colours. The upgrade also delivers improved quality and smoother gradients, plus it enables faster printhead replacement and drastically increases file processing speed by up to 200% for large, complex files.

Now available globally, the EFI Reggiani BOLT upgrade features hardware and software enhancements for improved overall performance, printing quality, uniformity, and increased user friendliness including:

• Nozzle out and uniformity compensation features that improve solid colour appearance and enhance overall printing quality
• Increased performance and improved processing speed for large, complex files
• Integration of a new digital camera that both provides for precise and consistent print results and shortens the time for print head replacement and alignment
• An enhanced user interface – based on EFI Fiery Command WorkStation® 6.0 – that is easier to use
• Fiery Smart Ink Estimator, a key tool to help determine job profitability based on accurate calculation of ink costs prior to printing.

Todd Zimmerman, a long-time graphic arts executive with a strong track record of growing advanced technology initiatives in print, has joined Electronics For Imaging, Inc. as its new vice president and general manager, Display Graphics.

He comes to EFI™ from Fujifilm® USA, where he spent a decade and a half in a variety of executive roles, most recently as division president and corporate VP of Fujifilm Global Graphic Systems. Prior to joining Fujifilm, Zimmerman worked in sales with Kodak Polychrome Graphics.

Zimmerman assumes his new role at a time when many EFI customers are growing their businesses to meet recovery-fuelled, post-pandemic business needs, especially in key application areas, such as point-of-purchase graphics, tradeshow and event signage, and environmental graphics and décor. As print businesses regain their momentum, Zimmerman will lead EFI’s largest inkjet business segment, a Display Graphics business that is among the world’s largest developers of superwide-format UV LED and dye-sublimation inkjet printers and inks.

• Global online fashion retailer and UK supplier - Asos and Fashion-Enter Ltd. - teaming with Kornit for adoption of efficient, low-impact direct-to-fabric digital textile printing with zero water waste and accelerated production speeds

Kornit Digital (Nasdaq: KRNT), a worldwide market leader in digital textile printing technology, announced that global online fashion retailer ASOS and its supplier Fashion-Enter Ltd. are implementing Kornit Presto to explore the future opportunities presented by on-demand manufacturing.

Kornit Presto is the most advanced single-step solution for direct-to-fabric printing, enabling Fashion-Enter Ltd. to rapidly deliver test-and-repeat small product runs on behalf of ASOS. These production capabilities will enable ASOS and Fashion-Enter Ltd. to imprint designs on multiple fabrics at the push of a button, through a lower-impact production process that has zero water waste and accelerates production speeds by cutting out typical dyeing processes.

In Kornit’s pigment-based digital textile production capabilities and efficient workflow solutions, Fashion-Enter Ltd. sees an answer for brands serving the needs of today’s consumers, while reducing inventory waste and improving supply chain management and garment quality.

Brodelec chose to broaden its scope of activity by investing in the Kornit Presto S.

As the Kornit Presto is free of certain technical and chemical constraints and has adapted perfectly to Brodelec's workflow system; we are currently printing more than 10,000 masks per week and can respond to requests within extremely short deadlines while guaranteeing quality and sharpness of detail. The masks meet the recommendations of the AFNOR and are designed with a fabric that filters out particles in the air by over 90%! Therefore, the designed and printed fabric masks are designated as category 1 and meet the UNS1 standards. They are distributed after testing for 60 washes."
