Destocking: Use Winter Sales Despite good sales in late December and early January the autumn / winter season did not succeed for many companies. As there were only a few upland areas having cold and snow for a long time, it was lacking in most places of need for buying incentives to purchase real winter goods. Many stocks are therefore still well filled with warm jackets or sweaters. Against this background and the probably rather more mild weather, the clearance in the running season will be more difficult than in 2011. So in the upcoming weeks special efforts have to be made to market the winter goods successfully. Finally, referring to fashion and liquidity reasons the storage of the remaining stock up to fall 2012 is reasonable only in limited cases. Source: |
