Here the determination of the partial write downs remain a central issue in the case of audits by the responsible tax office. In particular, the flat-rate devaluations by age groups often lead to disputes with the fiscal authorities. Sometimes even the approach of partial write downs will be completely rejected.&lt;/p&gt;

To be accepted for tax purposes, forecasts for expected price cuts and the size of the affected inventory should be documented by operational documents.
